Probably. Depends on how much it weighs, what size disc pans it has, how aggressively you set the gang angle and how deep you try to run it.

If it's a heavy duty model with 22" or larger disc pans, then it is definitely too much for your tractor.

Off set or tandem? Light weight or heavier? What size pans? 3pt or pull?

I have an old JD-Kielfer 8' offset pull disk with 22" pans, in soft soil pulling axle deep there are times that it will stop my 75hp tractor. This disk weighs around 2000lbs. My thinking is that you should stay with a 6 footer, but lots of variables to consider that can change that. ;)

Like the others said it depends on the disc. I have a light duty IH trail type that's 9 or 10' wide with 16" disc. My L3000 pulls it fine in 4wd.
