Don’t own a rake but needed to do some work on the driveway before winter hits. A neighbor volunteered the use of his rake, but stipulated that he had the backhoe on his 32 horse Yanmar, so I’d need to use my tractor or wait until he took the hoe off. I figured it was a 6 foot rake from seeing him use it, but after getting it hooked up realized it was a 7 footer.

Shot some video while I was using it. The BX actually pulled it pretty well and with the loader up front, I didn’t feel like all that weight out back was an issue. If I was in the market for a york rake, and I wasn’t interested in working with it in the woods, I’d seriously consider a 7 footer.

Actually the rake worked better than I expected.
Thanks for the video.

It all comes back to running out of traction before you run out of power :D

I use a 6’ rake behind my BX sometimes.

In order to reverse it (Swing it around) I had to drill holes higher in the lift rods to get a little more lift out of the 3PH.

The only issue I see with the 7’ rake on the BX is I doubt there is a way to reverse it, without first removing it from the tractor.

Edit: Agree about traction. I ALWAYS run out of traction on my BX before power becomes an issue (at least when pulling something).
