72" Land Pride GS1572 or 72" EA Land Shark 5.1

In this case going on a b2650 to be used on flat ground, sand and gravel. Question is more so about which is a better build in function and quality OR are they about the same and go with the best pricing at the time?

I Believe you will be happy with either. I would chose the lowest price.

I have the Landpride GS1560, would say the EA is better built but unless you are using commercially I don’t think you will notice the difference. Either will last you a lifetime and then some. If they are close in price and EA were in stock I would go that route, but when you need it and the local dealer has it who wants to wait. Good luck and have fun with it.

I would think twice about a 72” implement with a 26 horse tractor.
I have an L3301 that I use on my gravel drive and at times, it will labor using a 72” landshark. That’s not using any scarifiers. That just full blades smoothing a driveway of 3/4” gravel.
My advice would be to look at something in the 60” range.

The 72 is probably too big for your rig. I run a GS1560 behind my B2710, it would not handle a 72”.

Eipo on here I believe runs the 72" LP. And I've seen others run them on the b2650. Weight and material wise I would think it would be ok but I'll have to review some more.

Steve I'm surprised yours bogs down with an L3301 with the 72"! Flat ground?

FWIW I pull the BB2560 box blade fine with the B2650. It weighs 471lbs empty. The GS1572 weighs 594lbs empty but I figured it carries far less material. I've pulled a 72" landscape rake as well but they are far lighter.

Hello,
When I have a load of gravel brought in to spread, I have to drop the tractor into low while the blades are really loaded while spreading, or it will noticeably bog down a bit. The good side is with the implement being about 10” wider than my rear wheels, I don’t have to get real close to the edge of the road.

That's one difference, I almost always run my ground engaging implements in low and 4WD. Also run my RPMs around 2300-2400.

Also FWIW, I believe eipo is pulling the Woods GSS72P with a B2650. That GSS72P weighs out at 655 lbs with the scarifiers on (5 of them).

Like most others with similar tractors, I’d recommend against a 6’ implement behind the tractor you have.

I also own a B2650, and drag a GS1560 from time to time. With loaded tires, I can still feel it get close to losing traction when it’s fill of material and the scarifiers are set deep. If you’re only in sand or not using the scarifiers, you may be OK.

I do own a 72” EA Landscape rake, and the B2650 handles it well. The rake also moves much less material, and doesn’t dig like the scraper can...

I agree. I just bought the GS1572 for use with my L4701 and I can feel it grunt if I'm getting aggressive with the bite. I would think you would have to run your R's high and low gear to pull it with a 26HP. May want to consider a lighter one. My previous tractor was 25HP and I used a much lighter Bush Hog CRG60. It only worked in low gear and had to make several more passes than I do with the bigger machine and heavier plane. I don't think you will be using the implement to its potential. Better to buy a lighter one. The work will probably get done in the same amount of time, but with a fatter wallet.
