6ft landscape rake

Looking for a solution for a problem ,I bought this rake never thinking my three point hitch won't open wide enough on my b7100 to attach the two bottom pins ,I adjusted them till they were almost touching the back tires,any thoughts or solution would be great,I got this thing for a100 bucks so I would like to keep it.

Jeff, can you remove the pins and reverse them so they are facing inside the frame? Then it should be narrower.

That's what I did on my blade but this has a steel bar running across the front so you can't do it I will post a pic,thanks

Why not weld a couple of flat plates extending downward to allow the pins to be reversed? They would have to have holes bored for the pins, or weld the pins to the plate. That's what I did to my trailer carrier. Joe

Why not trade down to a Cat I rake, and possibly pocket some cash?

What you have there is a category 1. Next smaller is category 0, for small garden "tractors".

How about moving your wheels out on the axle?

If not, as suggested, take a 3"x 3/8" angle and cut it the length of the width of the iron the exiting pin in mounted in. You'll need 2 each of the brackets. Weld them to the existing cross piece in the position you need. Oh, drill the hole for the pin before welding!!

Nice bargain. Don't sell it, make it work!

Thanks guys ,the other thing I didn't think about is the ability to rotate the rake180 ,my neighbor pointed that out to me .

I own a 6' and a 7' rake. I have never turned either one around in probably 5 years. It's a feature not on my absolute must have list.

Good to know about not turning the rake 180 ,I have a 700 ft gravel driveway and I like to keep it as dressed up as I can ,I have been doing it with a back blade so far but I just thought the rake would do a better job ,I really appreciate all the advice,orange talk and its members are awesome!

Hey Jeff, I think the rake will be a 1000x more useful than the blade for grooming your drive. It's my preferred tool by far for the task.

Jeff, if you or helper can drill a couple of holes and weld, here's a simple solution to your rake. It will also move the rake back a couple of inches away from your tires.

Jeff, I have a b7100 and a 6' rake that looks identical to yours. I do have to spread the bars quite a bit to mount it but I have never noticed any problems with clearance. I have ag tires and the new style rear wheel hubs.
