I have a B3000 (30hp) and use a 6' back blade for snow removal primarily. I'd love to add a hydraulic cylinder on the blade to adjust angle since I have a set of unused rear remotes. I assume many of you have added this feature or have a blade already equipped and am hoping that someone could share some cylinder specs so that I don't have to reinvent the wheel.... bore & stroke, retracted length, etc. Thanks..... It really does depend on the model of blade your working with and if it is already set for up to add the cylinder or not?

Get a welded 3" dia cylinder with a 1 1/2" dia rod that has clevis ends on it. I would get a 12" stroke and simply make mounts that will get the cylinder to work.

Once you have the cylinder, extend it half way and figure out what you need for mounts. Just need to keep in mind when designing the mounts that ideally you want to be able to swing the blade around so that you can use it in reverse if need be. That goes for running forward for smoothing as well as reverse for actual plowing-grading.

Maybe post a few pictures of the blade to get some mounting ideas if you don't already have something in mind. Lots of blades are built differently, so pictures can make a big difference as far as recommendations.

Good luck. ;)

Thanks! You've given me some things to think about that I hadn't considered. I almost never use the blade in reverse mode either to plow in reverse or to smooth going forward. But having that capability might come in handy. The cylinder size you mention is kinda what I was considering. Anything wrong with swivel ball ends?

Just harder to build the mounts (needs to be supported on both sides of the ball) and not as strong. Strength wise I would not worry about with a 6' blade though as long as you use cat 2 ends or bigger.

Take a look at how the factory hydraulic actuated blades are done, that will give you some ideas.
