Got the oil done. Does Kubota hire gorillas to put these filters on? Thanks god I still had my strap wrench to get it off. Bent the filter a little. Was going to let the HST fluid drain whil I go back to work but my oil pan I have been using the last 20 years is to tall by a half inch. This thing had 3 gallon capacity so will not do it in smaller increments. I'll jack the ass end up just enough to get my large pan under it.

Don't forget to clean the HST filter screen. It's bound to have some RTV in it.

Mine seemed to be on the "minimal" side, but I've seen others report "huge mass of giant globs".

I guess it must depend on who is working in the factory that day and how strong they are squeezing the tubes,. LOL

Forgot to mention, There was something like little rubber pieces on top of the oil filter hanging in the hole. That seemed strange. On that HST screen, am presuming I need to clean that before I fill up, correct?

Check the manual again, usually only the filter is changed and the oil is left in at 50 hours. Some do a real quick filter swap with some mess and others apply a vacuum to the fill hole which makes almost no mess. I would sugget you watch some Youtube videos.

Thanks for the heads up. Looked again, its just the filter. Save me a headache for now. Does the HST oil ever get changed or just keep adding when low? The manual does not state anywhere to change it. Thanks again.

Seems like it’s 200 hours for a change and 400 hours after that, if I remember correctly.

Double check your manual. It’s in there somewhere.

Looks like 400 hrs to drain HST and the little screen. Posting a pic of my manual. If this is a no no, please delete.

I think you’re right. Filters only at 50 hrs on the HST trans (two of them) and then new filters and fluid at 400 hours, 800 hours, etc.

I think the OEM “gray” filters are painted on the machine, so I think they are so damn tight at the 50 hour service because they are painted on.

Kudos to you for doing this with your back and shoulder condition. Be careful not to bust yourself up. Tractor labor is probably less expensive than doctors and being in pain.

2 HST filters? I changed 1 oil filter and 1 HST filter. Hope you meant that.

BX just has one filter on hydraulic/HST system. I think some of the larger tractors do have 2 filters on the hydraulic/HST system.

BX does have 2 identical fuel filters - one near fuel tank and one near injection pump on engine.

Hum, on a BX, I must have meant one HST filter.
