5' or 6' grader blade?

I've got an L3800 and plan to do some road maintenance. My goal is to restore the crown in the roads at my camp and fill in the ruts. We've got a lot of dirt piled on the sides that's preventing water from running off. I found a 5' grader for $150 but I'm afraid it'll be too short if I turn it at an angle because I need to get close to the ditch. Should I hold out for a 6'?

6" at least. It'll easily handle a 7', too...

For your machine no less than six foot . I would get one that you can offset as well for doing ditches .

A 5' will be all but useless. Even if it was free you won't be happy with it unless you like wasting time and burning fuel for nothing.
I bought a 5' blade and it wouldn't even keep my B7100 busy. It's been sitting in the shed since back in the 90's still like new.

Yep, ditto what they said. Even better, consider a box blade for riding your driveway of the crown plus you can clean out your ditch also by tilting it.

We use our straight blade for snow. It's a 6 footer and when angled at 45 degrees, just 2 passes rids the driveway of snow nicely.

Either of these in an 84" width would be about the perfect blade for your tractor. Might want to consider skid shoes also, they make a huge difference.
