Was going to go with the Land Pride 48" box blade (BB1248) for my BX23S, but recently came across the Land Shark version from Everything Attachments. Bought a new BX23S, added some extras along with a Land Pride landscape rake and Land Pride forks, but the dealer didn't have the box blade in stock. Said he ordered a few since, but won't budge on the full retail price plus freight, so I figured I'd just buy the Land Shark. Looks like it's higher quality, easier and better system to adjust the rippers, etc. for nearly the same price.

Before I pull the trigger on the Land Shark, what's the consensus on these two? Is the Land Shark superior?

Thanks!

Honestly, you'd have to do a 'side by side' field trial to know the true answer.
My gut says buy the cheaper one, heck it's just 4' wide and YOU can always add more weight IF required.

Both are essentially the same price. Just curious if one was better made than he other. Honestly, I'm leaning toward the Land Shark simply because the dealer refuses to give me a discount even after buying a brand new tractor and other implements, and the Land Shark seems a little better built.

Does the 48” Land Pride still use clips to install the rippers? The EA uses pins. Clips are a PIA to use, pins are easy.

Yes the LP uses the clips, the LS uses pins.
That was a major deciding factor for me when I was deciding.

I ended up with a Homestead Pinnacle series due to those "special clips".

The pins are a simple, yet effective design, and in my opinion those clips could/will become a major PITA if/when you lose one.

I have "no dog in the fight", so these are just my thoughts.......

Edit: I just remembered, in case it is relevant, Homestead offers a 10% veterans discount too.

Land Shark I think is own by Everything Attachments, not sure I would give my money to them after the crap that went on in the last few years with them.

As for your dealer not budging on price; I like to keep my dealer happy so that if I had any problems with my tractor, that he doesn't hold not buying a box blade against me... and yes, there are ways that can bite you in the butt.

That's just me...

I have the LP with the clips and they can be a pain. But I got mine used for a very good price. I found if you use a cheap pair of Channel locks with a deeper groove cut in the ends they will grip those clips making it easier to remove and install.

If you go with LS/EA, stay on top of them, and watch how long before they ship ... As mentioned, they went under for a bit, didn't ship what was paid in advance for, and locked the gate and sent employees home, court problems ... Use credit card that will back you up, but they mostly only have 90 days at most to "claw back" the money if there is a problem ...

I've never read of a quality problem with what they make, just a bit of shipping problem, either slow, or never showed up, since they have reopened, they may have gotten better at sending you what you paid for ...

Do you have any other tractor or equipment dealers around? Implements are not brand specific, particularly blades. Shop around locally. Go to TractorSupply, Runnings or any other local stores that sell them and price them out. With a BX23, it’s highly doubtful that any box blade out there won’t hold up for you.
