NICE !! Almost looks like that spot was deigned for the battery !! I add custom cutup sponge rubber floormat material under every battery hoping it cushions the shock of offroad adventures.....

No battery will last for months if it isn't topped off and the negative cable removed or it's on a battery maintainer. Cheap or not makes no difference.

I sure like hearing from an expert on such matters.
I guess I had better check the batteries in my 07 Dodge Cummins and my 2010
Ram Hemi and my 07 BX24 and my 2012 Husqvarna lawnmower. All of which have original batteries that have never been touched.
Had I known about your expertise, I would have taken better care of them.

I have a 1996 Honda 4 wheeler and it's 3rd battery is only couple years old!

Never used a maintainer much less own one.

That is 22 years on 2 batteries.

All my batteries are Interstate.

When my Kawasaki Mule needed a new battery I installed a lawnmower battery. As you stated, a fraction of the price & longer lasting than ATV batt.

As a tangent, this week I sold my dad's B2400 tractor he purchased in 2000. It was on its 2nd battery he installed in 2007. Still worked just fine, even after sitting idle for nearly a year. It was a Continental brand made in Korea.

Whatever blows your dress up.:D

Me, I'll use my battery tender on idle jars or disconnect the negative cable if they sit.

Just like major appliances manufactures, batteries makers spend lots of $$$ to make use their product doesn't last but for certain amount of time ;). I agree using tender can buy you a little more time

I bought a Honda Rancher 4x4 ATV brand new in 2015. It often sits several weeks without ever being cranked in my garage. I bought it cause I wanted it, then shamefully hardly ever actually ride it. It has just over 500 miles on it. Most of those miles were put on in big one day chunks. Like one saturday we went to a local state forest and I rode over 30 miles or so that day. Other ventures are on dirt roads around my house at 10-15 miles per outting. Ive thought of selling it honestly because I hate that I just never use it. I worry all the time about the fuel sitting in the tank too long ,and about the battery dieing. To my surprise, everytime I turn the key though it lights up and fires right up without a single hiccup. It sounds brand new, looks brand new, runs like brand new, despite being 5 years old. The batter has so far shown no sign of problems. Ive never even touched the battery. I'm curious why your 4 wheeler batter dies every single year??
