I’m considering installing a 3rd function kit on my M7060. Dealer wants $ 300 to install plus $ 400 for transport fees ( 1 hour drive to/from twice). I’ve Been told that the kit includes limited if any instructions.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The instructions for third function are usually in the loader manual. A nice dealer will print you off a copy.

I bought a land pride grapple and third function kit. I installed both, instructions weren’t great. I found a YouTube video someone made for installing the third function, made things very easy. Maybe there’s one for your tractor/3rd function.

I installed a 3rd function landPride valve in my BX23S, and once I got past the poorly written instructions, it was a breeze. Considering how many Kubota's are sold in English-speaking countries, one would think that they would have better instructions than they do. Kubota now owns LandPride, and they now have poor quality instructions with their products.

I guess you should specify if it is Kubota Wholegoods third function, or a Kubota owned Landpride kit. There is a difference, and the Kubota installation instructions will have been included in the Dealer assembly instructions that owners almost never get. Land pride kits will come with instructions.

I just installed a Land Pride 3rd function valve kit on my L3901.
It came with instructions and kit was easy to install.

I recently installed a third function from Everything Attachments. The instructions were fairly written, but I found a Youtube video of an install on a L3800 which matched up closely to my install. After reading the instructions and watching the video, it was easy. The only thing I have not done yet it to hook up to power. There is an inline fuse on the power cord so I'm deciding on going to the battery or the fuse box.

The parts diagrams are online so you can have a look but the valve is pretty substantial and a bit more work to install than the after thoughts used on the smaller machines. The plumbing to the front looks like it might require some time. However not a massive undertaking or complicated but personally I would jump at $300 labor. The $600 hauling on top of that would be a deal killer for me but I am a cheapskate.

In better times, ( a few years ago) I called my local dealer (20 miles away) for pricing on a grapple and 3rd function set up, fully expecting to do the install myself. After looking up all the pricing, he quoted me $100 less with free installation, and everything is in stock. I loaded it on the trailer, dropped it off, picked up the next morning.

Thanks for the responses. I think the compromise will be that I rent a trailer and the dealer does the install.

Another option, You might consider calling a couple of tow truck companies in your area. Most will have a roll back truck same capacity as the equipment dealers use. Most should price based on loaded mileage and may bump it up a little if you are a long way from towing company. Towing companies will know how to strap the tractor down and will have liability insurance. My Father In-law had a towing company and we used to transport tractors, mowers, fork lifts etc to the dealer. We were considerably less expensive.

Wow, great idea! Thanks for the tip, I will give it a try.
