My belly mower is nearing its end of life. I’m interested to hear who is pulling a 3pt finish mower with a B1700 sized machine and what brand/ width you using.

I don't know if this is still a relevant question to you, but...

For that size tractor/engine, no wider than 4 or maybe 5 feet. Probably similar to your current belly mower size.

Only think I'd think to consider before buying one is what type of clipping it leaves, as a 3 point finish will most likely discharge out the back rather than the side.

Don't forget about the rear swing. Have thought about one myself but not taking the chance swinging into something. There are a few used MMM on CL in minnesota for the B series. Think 6 feet wide.

I ran a 3 pt. 5 foot Bush Hog rear discharge finish mower behind my JD750 MFWD (17 pto HP) after retiring the mid mount mower. I wish I would never have bought the mid mount mower from the start.

Now.... behind the Kubota B2650.... I run a 6 foot Bush Hog rear discharge finish mower. It does a mighty fine job in my opinion. I mow around a number of trees, house, outbuildings, etc. and you quickly develop a mowing pattern that eases the technique around the trees or other obstacles. It's my dedicated mower.

As @Bearcatrp mentioned.... you do need to pay attention to the rear "swing" until you have your mowing pattern figured out.

I'm frequently changing between rear attachments: mower, cultivator, rototiller, backhoe, etc. and love the ease of hookup/removal of the 3 pt mower in order to change between the various implements. The older belly mower under the former JD750 was a royal pain to install/remove!!

My Ford 1210 is similar to your Kubota. It handles a 5' Caroni RFM nicely. It did not handle a 5' LandPride. The weight of the deck makes a big difference.
