B2601 (ET:ALL TLBs) 3 pt hitch and loader not working
Well, the day after I made my last payment this happened. 3pt hitch and up and down on loader would not work. Downloaded the WSM and went through the whole hydraulic section. Narrowed it down to the loader control valve or a relief valve. Before I really tore into this job I decided to call where I purchased the tractor and see if they would let me speak to a mechanic. This was the 2nd time calling them. Talked to the lead mechanic, over 20 yrs at this dealership. Asked me if I had the backhoe, which I do. He said take the line off the backhoe, this is the line that completes the loop for the tractor hydraulics. He said , you have a bad coupler. Probably the female end. Wanted me to look inside the female end and see if the pointed part was dead center. Bet me it wasn’t and said spring is more than likely broke. I would of never believed this was the problem because every function of the backhoe worked. But I’ll be dammed, it was off center. Swapped it with one not being used on the backhoe and holy shit everything works. I was ready to pull off a back wheel and tear into this thing. I really thought I was looking into spending big bucks and hours of work and it turned out to be a $17 part. The coupler being bad I had no 3pt, no raise of the mower deck and no up and down on the loader. Wanted to share this bit of info, may help someone else.
