I'm still getting to know the old (1991) Kubota B6200 HST 4WD tractor we bought in early December. The 3 pt hitch is very slow to go up. The hydraulic fluids were changed about 37 hours ago, with a new filter installed at the same time. Hydraulic fluid level is good. Ran engine at 2500 rpm. Tractor has FEL Saw nothing relevant about this issue in the Operator's and Workshop manuals. What are the possible reasons for the slow lift? What issues should I investigate? Thanks to anyone who posts a reply. Peter

Has it always been slow or did it just start it all of a sudden?
I guess the easiest thing to check first would be to look at the 3pt control linkage to make sure that it has the full range of travel. Also look to see if any of it is binding up anywhere.

SDV, it sounds like you and Mr K are getting bored in the great white north if you are betting on filters now. If you win does he have to bring you breakfast for a week or what?

I don't know about your model tractor but my M5030SU Kubota has a short lever under the seat on top of the rear of the transmission or front of the rear diff. that you can adjust the speed of your 3pt hitch or you can turn it to where the 3pt hitch is locked. Won't go up or down. If you have that on your tractor check and see which way it is turned.

Thanks Vic and the other guys for your responses to my inquiry. Much appreciated. Just read your article about this matter, Vic. Newly posted I think.

I did not install the spin-on filter; it was installed by a previous owner and only had <40 hours on it when we bought the tractor. All I did was to check the oil level using the dip stick, and add about 250 ml of additional fluid (purchased from Kubota), to see if that would make any difference to the rate at which the 3ph goes up. No difference.

By the way, when I lift the FEL and bucket and turn off the engine, the bucket dumps pretty quickly, i.e., in about 5 seconds. That's not a slow leakdown. The FEL is a Kubota B1630B installed on the tractor when purchased in 1992, I believe.

I'll follow your (Vic) advice and look at the other two filters when I'm next at the machine which will be in February. It's "around the bay" in an old barn waiting for spring action. That's 2.5 drive north of St. John's.

I'll let you know how it goes in a few weeks' time. Peter

If it gets to bad just call in a delivery order and after you and the shop crew claim the food point the delivery guy toward Mr K's office for collection.

I see from the Kubota Operators and Workshop manuals where the 2transmission fluid strainers are located. Diagrams and photo from the manuals appended. Do the O-rings get replaced when removing and cleaning the strainers?

I'll take photos of the strainers and post them as a new thread in February when I get back at the tractor. Peter

There were three previous owners of this B6200 HSTD 4WD - Greg, Harold and the Newfoundland Liquor Commission. Only Greg used it for a bit of farming (about 34 hours with a plough, rototiller and mower + some snow clearing with the FEL). Greg did not clean the oil strainer, and while Harold changed the transmission fluid and screw-on cannister filter, he can't remember cleaning the strainers. These two chaps owned the tractor for a combined 5-6 years. So, I'll hold you in suspense about the strainers until I get back at the machine in early February (hopefully). Peter
