For the guys who have a Quick Hitch on their BX. When you are mowing, how do you keep the Hitch from Dropping down and Dragging?

And do you use the Cat 2 Pins or the Bushings? Is there any Pros and Cons to the 2 of them?

OK your BX is a CAT 1 no reason for CAT 2,,, also the lift arms that hook to the 3 point lift arms are put back in to the brackets to hold it in place that way it don't lift or drop

I bought a Cat 1 Quick Hitch, it came with 2 bushing for the pins. So I need 4 more Sets, or Change to Convertion Pins. The Bushings are the Size of Cat 3 Pins 1 1/2". Convertion Pins are 1 1/8"

Do you know what the difference between Cat's is??
Your BX could not handle a Cat 2 implement, to larger and too heavy!

Here is a chart, there is Cat 0- 4 spec's.

Edit:
Read your last comment:
The bushings are to make Cat 1 pins so that the quick hitch can not slide off the ends, and yes I use the bushings, you can get them from northern tool for cheaper than anywhere else.

I understand what Cat0-4 are. What I'm asking is the Pin size. My QH came with 2 Bushings to go on the Cat 1 Pins, to Make them 1 1/2" Od Pins. I have Read where some People are Using Cat1/2 Conversion Pins. 7/8 Thread/ 1 1/8" pin. I'm asking if there is Anyproblem using one or the Other, as with the Conversion Pins there is More Room for it to move around.

Problem is that you will have to drill out the Holes that the pins bolt into, thus making it impossible to convert back to Cat 1 size pins, thus ruining the implement, not a good choice!
And as I said you use the collared bushings to keep the implement attached to the quick hitch, the cat 2 pins or even the cat 1/2 conversion pins do not have the collar on them. ;)

The expensive collared bushings are not needed. The simple bushings work fine. The implement frame between the hooks keeps the implement centered.

There are pins with cat 1 thread and cat 2 body, so the hole wouldn't need to be drilled out. The first one on this chart, for example:

http://www.fleetfarm.com/detail/Spe...earch&gslfah&gclid=CNjo0LnKx7oCFex7Qgod7lYA9A

Some older quick hitches had the lower hooks sized for cat 2 pins. The newer ones are usually made to the ASAE quick hitch specifications which mean the hooks are sized for cat 3 pins. So with a cat 1-2 pin, you would still need a cat 2-3 bushing to not have a sloppy fit.

that was the conversion Pin I was Talking about 7/8" Thread[cat 1] to 1 1/8" Pin[cat2].

But Bushing is bigger, the size of a Cat 3 Pin. Will it be too Loose if I just use the Cat 2 Pin or Do I really need the Bushing?

It will work without the bushing, but will clash, bang, rattle, and eventually wear the hooks in spots. I've seen it happen on a QH used without bushings. Or it may support the entire weight of the implement on the top hook instead of the two lower hooks.

I would do it if I needed to get some work done right now before I had a chance to buy bushings, but I would get them as soon as possible.

I have two quick hitches, the old one has cat 2 lower hooks, the newer has cat 3 lower hooks. I use the cheap slip-on bushings with both, either one or two bushings as needed on the lower pins.

The "Right" bushings are only $12.99 a pair.;)
I can't imagine banging and beating my implements around for a couple of dollars savings!

Go with wolf mans advise. Once you have the proper bushings for each implement it makes life a whole lot easier.

When I first bought my quick hitch I only had one set of the bushings, I kept forgetting to buy other sets while I was out, I just used the same ones on which ever implements I needed at the time.

I also bought a different top link, it looks like a "Y", for a couple of my implements, as the hook that it comes with doesn't work with them.

Good luck.

That is what I was Asking, the Older ones Had Cat 2 Hooks. I had Seen Somewhere, someone was Using Cat1/2 conversion Pins, but that is too Small for my Hooks.

The "Right" bushings are the internal size of Cat 1 and external to Cat 3, that's why your cat 1 to 2 conversion pins are sloppy.;)

I didn't buy the 1/2 pins. Was getting ready to order the pins or the Bushings, just wanted to know which one was better. i thought the bushings were better, but thought maybe I was missing something
