Greetings all.

I have been having some questions about my 3 point lift arms recently in regards to the lifting lever for the l3800. I can't remember exactly, but vaguely recall that the lift 3 point lifting and lowering lever used to be associated with the range of numbers on the housing for it. For example, if the lever was at "1" then the lift arms would be barely lifted, at "5" they would be about mid range lifted and at the highest number they would be at the highest point of lift. It seems that the lift occurs when the lever is at 3-4. Is there an adjustment for this or does it even mattter?

As always, your input is appreciated.

Cheers,
IDK

Across multiple brands and models I've always considered that the markings associated with the 3-point lift hand-lever were intended more as a general guide than having any type calibration regarding 'how high' the lift would.

Find a setting you like and use the thumb- or knob-screw to set to hold that position. Like when using a brush-hog, get the implement level using the right-side rear screw-type lift-link then get the height you desire and then lock the hand lift-lever. Note some hand lift-levers are spring-loaded such that the operator can push or pull the lever to bypass the lock setting to obtain more range when occasionally desired.

You can easily make a hand-lever lift lock if your machine isn't equipped. Use a short bolt, two washers, and a wing-nut and set this clamp-type stop wherever you want it in the slot in which the 3-point hand lift-lever travels. Slightly peen (or make the bolt longer and install two nuts together on top of the wing nut) so you don't lose the assembly when it rattles loose. You can add a spring or square T-nuts as desired.

Same is true for 'true' draft controls on tillage-type tractors. I've never seen two the same or one on a given machine that was the same day-to-day--close perhaps, just not consistently and exactly the same.

Please post back your experiences so we may all learn.

Like Stubbyie, we have several different tractors with position control 3PH and each is different. I just pick the height I want and lock the tab there.
