First Post.....
I recently bought a 2016 L2501 and am about to shop for a tiller.
I am wanting to keep with the 4' tractor with a 4' tiller.
Anyone pair a King Kutter TG 48Y?
Or should I pull a 5' tiller?
I look forward to this forum and input it will provide.

I think the rule of thumb is 5 hp per foot,,though I could be wrong

I have a L3200 with a 5 1/2' tiller. The tiller sticks out about a foot on both sides. It's good in the fact you can look over the rear wheel and see the edges of the tiller. It's bad because you can't just "run a row", you have to remember it sticks outside your wheels. I would rather it just cover my rear wheels. If you are gardening, you can space your rows where you can just run the tiller in between to cultivate and remove weeds. If my tiller was narrower, I would have an easier time "running the row".

The L2501 struggles with a 5 foot tiller if the soil is at all tough. I recommend 4 foot machines for them. they really have little more that 20hp at the PTO and the engine is turning slower relative to the pto speed than all the othe basic L tractors.

You should be fine with a 60" tiller.
I have a LandPride RTR 1258. My soil is mostly clay.
I have no problem running the tiller with my B2650.
19 HP at the PTO.
I usually run the tiller at less than 540.

Thanks yall for the advice/wisdom.
I am going with a 4' tiller.....probably King Kutter.
I see the issue with a 5' tiller and it being outside my wheel tracks. Yes it would cover them but as the above post said, it would be a challenge as the tiller would determine how wide my rows would be. I'd hate to be mowing over PHP's or something behind me if not watching.
Thanks again.
I bought my cultivator used but want a new tiller, as no warranty comes with used.
Any advice where to get the best deal? I am moving to northern Alabama and have seen $1399 at Rural King near me down there. I haven't checked Tractor Supply or others yet.
