I have a 2007 RTV900 and was reading a thread about the same thing happening to another 900. I have been using a jump box to start my RTV the past few months mainly because I only use it once a month maybe. The other day it starts right up as usual but when I went to turn it off it kept running, unscrewed the starter switch-kept turning the key off and on and it finally shut off. Went out to jump it off and it just clicks a couple of times. My jump box was completely charged. would the dead battery have anything to do with this even with a fully charged jump box or would it be the fuel shut off solenoid or the starter switch or a fuse, also I watched several videos that say the fuse box is located under the seat-it's not there, where is it located. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Assuming it's a diesel, you probably need 12 volts to energize the fuel shutoff solenoid ?
A 'dead' battery will 'pull down' a 'jump box', so there may not be 12 volts to run the fuel shutoff solenoid.
There might be an open/blown fuse that should power the solenoid ?

You really need the WSM ,or at least the wiring diagram !

Since you only use it 'once a month' , I suggest properly wiring in a 'maintainer', also dump 'diesel fuel conditioner' in the tank.

The machine requires a charged battery to function right. Although it might be possible, I doubt you will find reliable instructions for converting machine to operate long term with dead battery or sans battery. It would be far less trouble to install a proper battery then troubleshoot to find out what has been damaged by operating with dead battery or without a battery.

The fuses for the RTV900 are on the back of the operator's compartment under a black plastic cover.
The RTV-X900 has fuses under the seat, so watch out for which model you watch on utube.

The battery has to have at least some charge to activate the fuel shut-off solenoid.
