Hi orange folks,
I bought my first tractor a B2410 mainly for mowing my 3+3+4 acres lawn & some times over grown grass.
I can find a used Caroni; King Cutter & County line all 5 ft mowers for around $750.
which one do you recommend?
I heard about so called Y blades to give a neat cut; any idea where to get them and the cost?
Thank you for your reply.

I've had a few Caroni decks and a couple LandPrides. I really like Caroni and would buy them again.
The onlr Y blades are on flail mowers.

Do we know anyone who’s actually converted to the MEG-MO blades that can give us a report?

I bought a BETSTCO 72” Finish Mower about 5 years ago hoping to get a better cut on my turf runway. It does what I’d call “just OK” …

Maybe I’m expecting too much from it on wild grasses…. but I would like another option for replacement blades. The Betstco blades are ordinary, plain blades….. but are Left-Hand/Counter-Clockwise. I’ve been unable to find replacements other than from Betstco…and I was wanting some more aggressive.
(It also seems “odd” to me….but the mounting-bolt is LEFT hand threads as well. Theoretically, it seems to me that would actually tend to loosen with CC-rotation...So I tightened them pretty firmly., since I couldn’t find CC-type lock-washers…and there’s no washer at all beneath the head. When one made of chinesium broke under an impact-wrench …it was a bit troublesome to find replacements.)

I’ve put the blades to the bench-grinder a couple times and they Beat the Grass into submission… but the end-result is I often have to take it so slow .…and frequently must still go back and mow a second-time.
Maybe it’s just because I wait too long to cut grass that’s too high… :sneaky:

Anyway…. unless rocks are hiding in the grass …Im wondering how ”Meg-Mo” blades are going to do any better than ordinary ones.

Anyone..?
