They do that for different engine applications. The same engine used in your tractor could also be in a lawnmower, skid steer, trackhoe, ect....... where reaching one oil fill location is easy to get to, and the other may be next to impossible to reach.

Yep, different installations. In your case, you can refill after dropping the oil TWICE as fast using both fill ports. Kind of like NASCAR would do it!
