1986 B9200 4x4 coupling plate replacement? PLEASE HELP!

I have a 1986 Kubota B9200 4x4. only has 365 hrs on it and the coupling plates that are fiberglass from the output shaft into the rear end are busted. I was told that the 4 nuts could be removed and the shaft slide back far enough to put the new discs in place and bolt them back to it without separating the tractor. The part number is H6780-13840. I have the 4 nuts removed and the old busted fiberglass pieces removed. Please help! I need my tractor back up and running! Thank you in advance for any help and info!!

I'm not seeing a question anywhere in your post? :confused:
Did you remove 2 plates? It calls for 2 in that position.

I have the nuts removed and the old pieces out. I have the new parts but I'm not sure how to get them back in without separating the tractor. I was told to knot the pin out of the collar and that it would slide back and have a gap between the shafts for the two pieces to slide between the two shafts and bolt back into place.(not sure if this is correct, the guy i spoke to wasnt too promising sounding) Sorry I didn't have that clear in the original post.

I think you were give false info,
The problem is that there is 2 shafts, one the is inside of the disks (PTO shaft) and the second is the outside shaft (drive) that the disks attach to.
I think your going to have to split the tractor to get the PTO shaft to disengage to slide forward enough to get the disks put in place.
There is a roll pin that holds the PTO coupler in place but I don't think removing it will let the color slide far enough forward to do you any good.
Your not going to hurt anything if you try it, it's #230 in the picture.

Ended up and knocked out the pin in the coupler and split the tractor apart enough to slide the new discs in. haven't got it back together to run and test out. Hopefully this will solve all my "chatters" . Thanks for the info!!

just curious what these two magical plates do...

Are they a flex coupling between the shafts?

Yes the 2 fiberglass plates act as a limited flex coupling if the main transmission shaft. One reason they use that style over lets say a love-joy or others is that it allows a second shaft, PTO in this case, to run in the middle of the coupling.
