Look on the side wall of the tire and it will tell you the proper PSI that it should take.

You are so helpful, and accurate, knowlegeable, and wise in matters..... it boggles the mind to think you believe the pressures on the tire sidewall are recommended pressures for each and every installation.... this must be a TRICK POST you’re making.... ??
The pressures stated on tire sidewalls are in reference to that particular tire’s ability to support the specified weight-capacity of that tire. Example: I have a 5.70X8 trailer tire that states on it’s sidewall “910 lb capacity at max pressure 75 psi”.
The same size tire by the same mfr’r with a different ply-rating on the other side of that same trailer says “725 lb capacity at max pressure 50 psi”.
Those are NOT recommended pressures for that trailer however. That trailer has a 1600 lb GVWR and it’s tire pressure recommendation for 5.70X8 tires is 35 psi. Those tires I have mounted exceed the required carrying capacity of that trailer therefore they are appropriate to be mounted on that trailer...but they should NOT be inflated to their maximum capacities.
Skeets, I don’t know if that 40 psi a mis-print or not, but I suspect it is not a mis-print because the kpa and kgf/cm2 are commensurate. (In other words, it’s the kpa which is likely incorrect so the commensurate psi is also
inapplicable.).
However, the TIRE SIZE is only marginally larger than the 11.2 X 16 listed just-above it and so that leads me to believe it IS AN INCORRECT PRESSURE. I believe the correct pressure will be 18-20 psi.
