Makes sense. If you're selling everything you can make, and have backlog, you need to raise prices. But people get upset when you raise prices, so you make it a temporary surcharge and blame steel prices. And you can take it away again when demand drops back down to normal levels.

Wonder if it’s true. Mine told me the same was happening on July 1 (didn’t mention specific %) but I didn’t see anything change from June. Hope it’s not a sales tactic to push orders by a certain date/quarter/etc.

The dealership over here is more like family than anything. I'm always over there and get along well with all of the guys. The salesman that told me about the surcharge has already closed the deal with me on the new MX with cab and reminded me that the original quote was good. I bought my current MX through him and trust him implicitly.

Sounds good, and like you have a reliable source. Perhaps it was intended for 1 July and pushed back at the last minute. Thank you for sharing.

Everything is going up, plain and simple. Food, clothes, building supplies, cars, Kubotas, you name it.

Ain’t that the truth.... the “news” is saying to expect bacon to hit 10 bucks a pound... hamburger is 9 bucks/lb... I can ... and do.. get ribeyes for 6/lb. 1/2” cdx is 50/sheet. Alfalfa is 20 freaking bucks for 115 lb bale, If it weren’t for cheap whiskey I’d really be whining. Glad I got my tiny tractor in March

Sounds like you live in CA. Sorry, not quite that expensive here, but working people make a lot less, too.

Frickin chicken fingers at Publix here are $8.99 a lb. I was in the deli and thought about getting some chicken fingers to take home for lunch. I asked for 5, and at the self checkout thought something was wrong when $14.40 flashed on the screen. I looked at the bag of chicken fingers to see they were $8.99 a lb. Yeesh!

I was in Lowe's today. I walked through the paint section. Several 1 gallon cans of paint I noticed are almost $50 a gallon.

I bought a tube of silicone calk....$10.

Crazy times. Get ready for a wild ride.

Yeah, I am glad I was able to finally buy my tractor when I did.

I was at the auto parts store and bought spark plugs for a Dodge Dakota. $7.49 each. I thought the young man was mistaken, but it's been a while since I bought any!

Geez. Giving everyone free money has other long term consequences like inflation of currency devaluation??

Who could have seen that coming??

I had been putting off ordering a MOOG front end steering rebuild kit for my '02 F250 Super Duty but placed an order this morning for fear of a big jump in cost.

If this is true, I am glad I placed my order and locked everything in last month. That said, Kubota's build site still shows the same pricing as in July and the August buying incentives are slightly better than the July buying incentives by a couple hundred $$ and many of the finance deals aren't listed to expire until 12/31/2021. There's no doubt the US, and the rest of the world for that matter, are experiencing inflation right now, primarily driven by increased demand and reduced supply of almost everything due to COVID. If and when the pandemic is under control in the US and globally, supply will increase and demand will decrease.
