long time lurker, first post, We have 250 acres in middle TN, I was looking to buy an M5-111 to pull a 15 foot bat wing for mowing and buy a dump cart for pull river rock from the hollar up to use on the roads or pads. I was looking at trailers like this European style. Looking at Kubota's owners manual it looks like the tractor is only rated to pull 13,200 lbs. So if these trailers are 8000-9000lb empty it would be a complete waste. The M6-111 is only rated for 17,600. What is your guys thoughts? I need to come up one hill and then its flat ground for moving the rock around.

m5-111 67,600
m6-111 89,750 US dollars
+loaders but want cost comparison out there.

Thanks for the advice .

European models are built heavier and are built to be roadable, thus they have a higher haul rating.
Best option would be to drop the size of the trailers your looking at, load them light, and use front and rear ballast on the tractor.

is the m6-111 worth 22k over the m5-111?

If you are looking at farm dump trailers once you select your tractor I strongly recommend

Berkelmans welding.

The M6's are a lot more tractor than the M5's.
They surpass it in every aspect.
If the extra $$ doesn't bother you, you'll end up with more capacity all around.

I have 16ft and 10ft PJ dump trailers that I pull behind my tractors. The 16ft tandem axle (14,000lb) is good behind the M6060 and the 10ft single axle (5,200lb) is good behind the MX. An M5 or M6 would easily handle the 16ft tandem axle PJ, even if fully loaded.

But 12 to 16 ton dump trailers ... wow!

Did you do front weights (or FEL) and wheel weights?
They will both help with traction and stability.

so I ended up buy the M6-111 and an L6060 at the same time, and ordered a 12ton dump trailer from BERKELMANS WELDING & MANUFACTURING INC. After talking to them and a few other people this seems like this will be a really nice option.

Wow! I can't wait to see photos. What a great pair of tractors! I'm still wondering about a 12 ton trailer behind the M6-111. That seems like a really big trailer for that tractor. I can see one of those 300hp to 400hp tractors managing to pull that loaded, but the M6? So you'd be able to load 11,600lb in the trailer and stay within spec? That trailer is rated for a load of 18,000lb right since it weighs 6,000lb?

tractors get delivered on Thursday and the dump trailer arrives after Christmas. I will post photos for sure and give them an honest review.

Definitely looking forward to seeing photos and hearing your thoughts on the M6 and dump trailer.

That thing looks like a beast! A dump truck bed with a trailer tongue attached.

I like the fact that it's painted instead of powder coated. Makes the finish repairable.

Not much of an update, both tractors got delivered right before the cold front hit, went from 48 to -8 in about 4 hours. Next morning neither would start due to fuel being gelled up. Had to rescue 911 and put fuel treatment in both to get them to run. Going have to weld another step or make a cable step for the 6060 I can't physically get in it right now, but the M6 is a breeze to get in and out of. (wife said stay out of her tractor anyways)
