Got a weird one.

2019, about 4000 miles, I've owned since 2021, primarily used on my property. Routinely serviced.

Just yesterday out of nowhere, went in drive and I stop it auto reverses, can't get the shifter in neutral. Have to shut it off to shift gears.

I don't think I've driven at 100 ft, just tried it again. If I drive forward, and stop, it starts backing on its own. It's like the forward in reversed are energized together at the same time

Same thing in reverse, it will creep forward at an idle.

Any ideas? Just so weird. She's never had a problem except a broken axle a couple years ago.

Your going to need to give a better model number.
There are far too many variations.
Serial number will help too.

I grabbed a pic of the data plate this morning and gave a quick visual this morning, didn't see anything out of place.

I'm perplexed how reverse and forward can be energized, it definitely does not have it's lightning fast top speed of 20 miles an hour

You saved the day, it was the first illustration, the speed control rod (020) has loosened up.

It appears that at the "zero/ neutral" what's out of adjustment. When I would step on the gas, it would pull it forward and when I released off the gas it was past the neutral point. The opposite would happen when I was in reverse. I hope I'll explain that correctly.

Once again thank you.

I purchased a 2020 x1100C with (low, low miles) a year ago. I had to routinely fight changing gears: high/neutral/reverse, and like you had to restart the machine to get the gears to change sometimes. I found a YouTube video by Searles Station “Episode #4 HST Linkage (Speed Control Rod) and Episode #3 RTV Hard Shifting (Speed Control or Change Cable - can’t remember which and it’s too cold out and machine all covered). I had to adjust the Episode #3 cable some, but the real problem was the rod in Episode #4. Engine running in High gear with the wheels off the ground - "the rear wheels were turning backwards”. The link below is Episode #4. He has 4 to 6 videos on the X1100c, but these two were helpful for me.
