    My L3301 outlasted me!!!

I had no idea. Those stupid biting flies will actually take a hunk of flesh out of you!

    My L3301 outlasted me!!!

I have never seen a snow blower in person. I have never thought to myself, "Self, let's go experience snow blowers." Minnesota is absolutely gorgeous......in August.

M6800 Hydraulics not working in cold 20F. Tractor 20 years old. 1350 hours.

I had everything go dead and found that it was nasty hydraulic fluid and clogged filters. Drained fluid, replaced filters and all worked as it should. FYI, the fluid on my dipstick looked like it came new from the bottle, but the stuff at the bottom was a milkshake. In terms of assessing the...

Fixing hole in side of block

It looks like he crawled under a tractor which was balanced on a 4x4 balanced on a solar powered pneumatic bottle jack. I think there's a lot of room to criticise Joe's wisdom, but let no man condemn his diligence nor his courage.

Fixing hole in side of block

At this stage, my chief question is how we got here vs. "patch the hole in the block with JB weld and RTV and call it good"? I'm not even certain that such a "solution" would've been worse than where we're at now.

    Loader Hydraulics Setup/Power Beyond

That's a great point. The other option is to just flip the valve in n the hydraulic block back 90 degrees to it's original position. I'll have to ponder if the female-female jumper is or the valve adjustment tool is more likely to get lost.

    Loader Hydraulics Setup/Power Beyond

Good news! Got everything hooked up and it works great. Thanks all for the great advice! Barn Cat believes that he deserves 95% of the credit for his supervisory role; that is still being negotiated. The Facebook special Westendorf TA26 had unfortunate hoses and no control valve and one...

Fixing hole in side of block

That kind of got lost, but basically he had an identical separate donor tractor with some other issue and an intact block. He used that block with most of the parts from the "hole in the block" tractor and wound up with the Frankenstein monster from the remainder of the thread.

    Loader Hydraulics Setup/Power Beyond

Last question: magister says they won't have the power beyond plug in stock for at least 3 months, so I will probably just get a summit block and pb plug. Summit offers single spool float as an option, but I'm unclear if that's something that I'd require or hate on a loader control. Is there...

    Loader Hydraulics Setup/Power Beyond

That makes sense. Basically, if the fluid coming out from the cylinders were hitting a wall of fluid in the power beyond circuit at equal pressure, then there would be no pressure delta to operate the cylinder?

    Loader Hydraulics Setup/Power Beyond

Thanks!!! That makes far more sense. I think that my confusion arose from my lack of understanding that the loader control valve is placed in series before the rest of the remotes and the 3 point control. With regard to the tank line, I mistakenly believed that the power beyond VALVE was...

    Loader Hydraulics Setup/Power Beyond

I have the mounts for my new to me Westendorf TA26 mounted up on my M6800, which required some die grinder surgery, a come along and a farm jack. But it's mounted. Next step is hydraulics as this loader didn't come with a control block. I'm very much a novice with hydraulics, but getting this...

    2005 M6800S/ LA1002 loader operation issue

I think it's probably simpler if I start a new thread. Some forums are sticklers for piggybacking off of older threads, others prefer new ones. Apologies.

    2005 M6800S/ LA1002 loader operation issue

Edit: I think I have a slightly better grasp now, so let me see if I understand: the lines from the hydraulics section on the tractor which run the loader are still needed to operate the 3 point hitch arms, so when the control block for the loader is installed, the 3 point hitch is now the power...

Have a Hydraulic Problem but Lacking Motivation in Solving it...

The bonus for you is that swapping out the fluid and filters should get done regardless of an acute problem.....an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Utility Tractor Backhoe attachment frame vs hitch vs Mini Excavator

To be fair, I think everything comes down to cost, however you measure that (money, time, hassle et c). I would not turn down a new 125 HP JD with a lifetime no questions asked warranty where JD flew folks out whenever I had a problem IF it cost $20k, nor would I turn down a big TLB if someone...

Utility Tractor Backhoe attachment frame vs hitch vs Mini Excavator

The excavator will hopefully get towed around a bit to help friends and neighbors, but generally will live on my land. It's 133 acres, but there are basically 2 11 acre areas that are flat enough to safely use equipment and have dirt suitable for growing anything more than skinny pine trees and...

Have a Hydraulic Problem but Lacking Motivation in Solving it...

My tractor's hydraulics completely failed due to 1) fluid which was much uglier than the filters would've suggested and 2 a bunch of debris from a brake job clogging those filters; completely fixed after fluid and filter change My rule is that every fluid which can reasonably be replaced gets...

Utility Tractor Backhoe attachment frame vs hitch vs Mini Excavator

One thing to consider is that I am boot-strapping a small farm from nothing. Every dollar is coming from some other purchase; I can get a backhoe sooner, but that delays the big fermenters or the house et c. I am of the opinion that every novel project will come in over budget, but aggressive...

Utility Tractor Backhoe attachment frame vs hitch vs Mini Excavator

I think that one important data point is walking the land with my dirt work guy and getting an idea of what a mini-ex could save me. If I can knock the initial cost difference down to negligible with one job while I'm learning the machine, it is a very easy decision. The other huge argument...
