I just bought my first tractor!

The L was just narrow for being taller. It fit well between trees, but the center of gravity just felt high to me since I was on a lot of slopes (tires were loaded). It was probably a good thing as it reminded me to always keep my load as low to the ground as possible. Going to the BX, I...

I just bought my first tractor!

Just make sure you block the back end of the trailer to prevent the weight of the tractor from lifting the back end of the tow vehicle! My L2501 would lift the back end of a 4wd F-350 with loaded tool boxes if not blocked. This thread almost makes me miss my L2501 that I sold back in April...

    Fall was short this year

Fall? Winter? I thought it was still summer. Building a shipping crate later last night with temps in the 70's, humidity in the 90's, sweating my tail off when it should've been in the 40s or 50s by that point.

What's up with some new members?

With political tensions turned to 11 in the past few weeks, I suspect some of that tension spilled over into other parts of life. Hopefully we can get back to our regularly-scheduled program around here now.

    The mouse mystery.

Have any asshole friends over recently? This seems like something I would do to mess with someone's head! :ROFLMAO:

How many customers does the treadle pedal cost Kubota?

The pedal worked great on my L2501 and did exactly what I wanted, it felt natural after a few minutes. On my BX however, the pedal just doesn't work well with the HST, it's not smooth, easy or natural. I'd say the poor implementation has probably cost more sales than the actual pedal...

    BX guys

There was enough plastic of the cowl left on my old one that I used 1.5" wide fender washers under the thumb screw. It reached enough of the plastic cowl to hold it down. I've since replaced the whole cowl with a shiny new one.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Towed around a 48" plugger for hours yesterday before seeding the lawn. Weather got a bit chilly, so I'd plug an area, get cold, then seed the area, get hot, and repeat. Gotta say, the BX tows that plugger up and down hills much better than the poor Husqvarna did, haha. Never needed 4wd...

SOLD: Curtis Hard Cab for BX25D/BX2370/BX2670

Thanks! I really don't know what a good price is on these since I don't see many hard cabs pop up for sale. For you guys up north, PM me an offer and keep yourself dry when you're blowing and plowing snow this year! Worst-case scenario, I say no and negotiate.

BX23's are NOT for mud gripe!

Does the BX have enough hydraulic oomph to lift itself out of the muck using all of its appendages? I've watched full-size backhoes pretty much crabwalk out of situations using everything except for the wheels.

BX23S dealer trade or private sale?

Looks like the OP is in NC and would have our normal 7% sales tax (assuming non-exempt), but if I recall, there is no trade credit on tractors, so you still pay tax on the full purchase price. With that said, I opted to sell my L outright and had it gone for a fair price within a week after...

    Furniture dollies?

Same thing here. I just buy the dollies for the cheap wheels, and put those on the bottom of a 2x4 or 2x6 frame. That's what my loader and backhoe are on currently, and with a smooth concrete floor, I can't complain about $25-$30 dollies.

    Insurance (State Farm)

I just went through this with State Farm here in NC on my BX25D. I had to spell it out for them. This model was NOT available in any other configuration, the loader wasn't an option, nor was the backhoe. You couldn't order this tractor without those items. Policy in place now. Oddly enough...

Random you tube find-Don't load your tractor this way!!

Man, he got lucky the tractor didn't tip sideways and land on him at the end, that thing was up on two wheels. I don't think wheel chocks on the truck would've helped in this case since he was on gravel. Maybe would've helped on the trailer...

    Daily Chuckle

Your parents must've loved you since they kept the breakable sticks! While most teachers had a yard stick in my youth, I remember Mrs. Jackson carried a 4-sided 1" square yardstick instead of the cheap 1/4" thick ones. I'm guessing it was old-growth oak, haha. Everybody knew not to cross her.

Who else buys tools/things for the explicit reason of "Because it's too cheap to pass up"?

Absolutely, but after decades of collecting tools, I've found it rare to have a repair or project that I don't have the proper tools for. It's nice not having to stop to go find some rare tool and projects get done much more quickly nowadays. With tool quality having gone down so much in...
