Hello All. I had to replace a leaking front seal on my RTV and thought you all might find it interesting. I hate any kind of leaks and this repair was very easy to perform. It was a bit time consuming of course to remove the rear seat and some plastic parts to get to the front of the engine...

This is a photo of my RTV1140CPX Engine. The bottom arrow points to the front of the RTV The other arrows point to where you can add engine oil. The lower fill just happens to be closer to the injector pump.

I am assuming it is used?? Have you serviced it as in: --checked hydro oil level in transmission and tank? -- should be fairly clear and not smell burnt --replaced hydro filters? --brakes (as above)? -- All wheels free to turn?

@mikester solution would definitely work, but likely it is the flasher. On my RTV, the 4-way and turn would sort of "warm up" making a creaking sound before actually doing anything. I found a used one on ebay for about $60. There's quite a bit of stuff on ebay for the RTV's but like anything...

A suggestion - can you get a pic showing how the belts are breaking? Perhaps another pic or two of an in-place belt - either side of the alternator?

For parts there are several sellers on ebay. Just search for the model. Also do search for "rtv salvage". It sounds like the tranny is stuck in gear and wont roll in neutral. Could you push/pull it back and forward while another person jiggles the shifter. Also look up "relief valve on VHT"...

I hear you! It's like trying to find a replacement for the little screw thing in a crescent wrench! Hmmm, would that be a Metric or SAE Crescent wrench??? I'd guess shops that do rebuilds for a living have stockpiles of junk parts - now which one???
