    Looking for a Leaf Blower

I found a lightly used B-50 agrimetal blower on Facebook marketplace. It is absolutely awesome for blowing leaves off of my large yard (and blowing sticks / limbs / debris off of my driveway). I have even used it to clear light / fluffy snow. I need to do this same modification to my blower...

    Does tire grooving really work?

You do not have to cut R4's deep to realize a SUBSTANTIAL improvement. I grooved mine about 1/8" depth. I have a L5740 with filled rear tires, max rear wheel weights, plow / or blower on the front and typically a heavy implement on the back when moving snow. I had questioned grooving / siping...

    My snow removal/traction dilemma

R4's are the worst on hard pack snow / ice! I have a L5740 with filled rear tires, max rear wheel weights, plow / or blower on the front and typically a heavy implement on the back when moving snow. I had questioned grooving / siping the tires for awhile and had ordered the tire groover off...

    Front blower L4474 vs L4479

Understood, that is unfortunate. That said, unless the driveway is chunking / breaking up and you are concerned about running chunks of asphalt through your blower, it still sounds like you would be better off removing the shoes completely. Your replaceable cutting edge will take the wear and...

    Front blower L4474 vs L4479

Why would it ride on either side? Does you drive have excessive crown? I have a L4479 and am not using the shoes. It rides evenly on the cutting edge, and does not ride on the ends. I would not want to use the shoes on a paved driveway as it wouldn't scrape clean.

(new to me) Snow removal setup: Front blower, blade combo on L5740

Wanted to share my new snow setup on my L5740. Totally overkill for most snow weather events here in Maryland, but it's "nice to know you can." Luckily we just had a couple decent snow events so I was able to test everything out shortly after building it. Previous setup: I had an older 8'...

    Front blower L4474 vs L4479

Dave, are you clearing a paved or non paved driveway? Assuming non paved, I'm surprised to hear your shoes are wearing that quickly. If you are on a paved drive, I would remove the shoes as the cutting edge will distribute the weight better.

    L5740 Mid PTO Installation

I realize this is an old thread, but in case anyone else comes across it, L5740 grand cab models come with the gear already install in the case, adding the mid PTO is as simple as removing the case cover under the machine and installing the mid PTO. I just installed a mid PTO on my Grand L5740...

    Snowblower and gravel roads

What is your typical annual snowfall amount? Loader mounted blade with a rear three point snowblower (like Mcmxl has) is a pretty tough combination to beat. You only need to mount the snowblower when snowfall is adequate to merit doing so, and the snowplow is easily removed from the loader...

    Brush-Grill guard mod for snowblower?

I decided to just cut the brush guard and weld it to the front subframe mount so that I don’t have to switch back and forth.

    L5740 snow plow size?

Over the weekend I also built an underslung mount for my Meyer. Haven’t used it yet, but looking forward to not having the plow hang so far forward off of the loader like before.

    L5740 snow plow size?

I realize this is an old thread, but I thought this might be helpful to others. For the past few years I've had a 8' Meyer plow on a SSQA mount for my L5740 loader. In small storms it is nice to have the extra width, but it is a lot of plow hanging off the front of the tractor. With deeper...

    Brush-Grill guard mod for snowblower?

Few more pics for reference. I also spoke to Messick’s and they said the L4481 bracket intended for the L60 series will not work with the L40 series. But they could not tell me why specifically. If the bracket was a bit cheaper than $168 I had considered buying it and actually test fitting to...

    Brush-Grill guard mod for snowblower?

Dfixit - So did you just mount the front bracket behind the original L40 grill guard, and cut off the cross brace? I too am looking to mount the new style 4 point subframe onto a L40 series tractor, but keep my front brush guard intact so that I don't have to take it on and off each time I...

Kubota L6060 Front Guard Options - Need help finding

Alright guys please refer to photos A, B and C below for reference. It appears that the front brush guard option that is most commonly found on L5740 and L6060s typically looks like Photo A, which has the plate bracket for adding weights. However on newer machines it appears that the brush...

    WTB Kubota l6060 front fenders.

I just purchased a set of OEM fenders (from a Canadian dealer). They do still in fact fit L6060 and the install instructions even mention the provision for install on machines with a loader. See here:

L5740 wire connector at left cab pillar... what is it for?

Wow, thanks for the link! I wish I had a that link before I ordered a paper copy of the WSM! Do you happen to have a link to the LXX40-3 WSM manual (or are there any significant differences? )

L5740 wire connector at left cab pillar... what is it for?

Certainly possible, however I was thinking maybe it was a factory provision for something OEM / dealer installed.

L5740 wire connector at left cab pillar... what is it for?

Check out the attached photo. My (new to me) L5740 has this two wire connector stubbed out from the left Cab pillar. Can anyone tell me what it might be for? The tractor has all of the optional dealer installed items that I am aware of (defrost windows, front / rear wipers, front / rear work...
