I'm far from an expert, just glad I got it working. I think I'll buy one of those reflective tachometer things to see how fast the thing is running.

    Kubota Bagger no suction

Just a quick update. I replaced the 6" drive pulley with a 9" and a new belt. Today was the first time I had a chance to use the vac and what a difference. The first thing I noticed was the very loud whirring sound. I always wear earmuffs but I'm probably gonna wear earplugs as well. Anyway, the...

Yeah the speed seems a little low to me too. Now for another what if-instead of changing the 6" to 9", how about changing both 4.5" to 3" ? This would give me something around 3,240 which is on par with the other brand you mentioned and the pulleys are available locally and cheaper. Thanks for...

Your drawing is correct, sorry for the confusion on my end. Pulley #1 is 6" I want to change this to 9" like the GCK60-26BX Pulley #2 is 4.5" Pulley #3 is 9" Pulley #4 is 4.5" And I have one correction. I referenced the grass catcher having three different drive pulleys. The 76ba has two, a 5"...

Sorry for the confusion- yes, two drive belts. The image with two pulleys is the fan, 9" and 4.5"

    Kubota Bagger no suction

I did a bit of research today on the GCK60-76BA grass catcher, and it turns out that Kubota made three different versions with either a 5", 6" or 9" drive pulley. I have the 6" pulley. All units have a 4.5" driven pulley and the fan pulleys are 9" and 4.5". I tore the thing apart tonight and...

Thanks Dave, I do have a manual and I'll post the drive belt pics tomorrow.

Well I read the user manual 3 times trying to find the required rear pto drive speed (I thought it was 540 rpm) but all it says is to run the engine at full power. It does say the fan speed is around 2100 rpm. I checked the rear pto speed for the Kubotas that work with this vac on Tractor Data...

Dave-I'll try your test on Saturday, looks interesting.

I checked the clearance again and it is less than 1". It sure felt like a lot more when I was pulling grass out. I tried a little test yesterday to see if it would suck leaves. I removed the hose from the mower and put a small twig that had a bunch of leaves in front of the hose and they just...

I took the metal plate out of the chute because grass was getting clogged between that and the holes in the front of the chute. I'll try your idea of moving the plate closer and take the tape of the holes. I got all the brackets and hardware, but I don't have anything that looks like the orange...

Two speed pto??? I don't see anything to indicate that. There is a mark on the tach that indicates 540 rpm (see pic) I think the engine is running around 2,500 rpm's. There seems to be a lot of clearance between the housing and impeller, probably an inch or more. Is this normal? I'll try...

tinkerwitheverything- The impeller is tight. I'm using the Kubota chute. I sprayed expanding foam around the boot and deck to seal as much as I can. I haven't had a chance to try it yet. 1970cs- 2 more pictures of the boot and tubing. Baffle kit? You mean that piece of metal in the boot that...

    Kubota Bagger no suction

Everything checks out ok. Still doesn't have a lot of suction but the exhaust side blows like a jet engine:) I tried picking up some cut grass without the mower running, but it wouldn't suck it up. I was hoping this would work like the Sears lawn vac I have, but it doesn't look like it will...

100 td - confirmed correct rotation, belt is tight and not slipping, and chute isn't plugged. MadMax31 - yes, rear and mid pto same time. I assumed these grass catchers have similar suction to an engine powered unit or am I wrong?

    Kubota Bagger no suction

New guy here with a MF GC1705, sorry, I like red better:) So here's my problem. I purchased a used Kubota grass catcher model GCK60-30B and installed it on the Massey with a bit of modification. I've used the grass catcher several times, but I noticed it doesn't have a lot of suction. I'm...
