As best I can tell, mine doesn't have a plastic tube. Theres a hole that the solenoid goes in and inside the hole it feels like a small round plate with an indention in the center. I can push the plate with my finger and it feels springy. if I push it in and release, it comes back.

I felt a flat piece with an indention in the center. I could push the piece in and it would come back out. Felt springy.

I will check that, rentthis. Its getting power because when I plug the wire in and ground it, the rod pulls back. im wondering if the rod is too long and not letting the fuel come through? Thanks.

I think I explained it wrong. Its the fuel shut-off solenoid. I cant post a picture, but it has a rod that pulls back when the key is turned on. solenoid works. it will crank without it, but when I put the new one on, it will turn over , will not crank.
