Well, you do have a tractor. A welder is part of the tools to support it. ;)
I made a simple lightweight gate and welded nuts to the T-posts. It keeps our dogs out of the garden.
Hi Bear, I share your love for manual transmission vehicles. All our cars and trucks are manual and I’m concerned that is getting harder over time to get.
However, for a tractor - let me confirm what others here say - the kubota hst is fantastic!
Using the FEL or the tiller it is the best way...
Wow, I’m trying to imagine what running for election as site moderator would even look like. It seems a recipe for division and conflict. I appreciate the servant leadership we have had on OTT so I vote no.
I appreciate the idea being brought forward - always good to evaluate what we have. Thanks
I don’t have a good photo but I can say that mine just bolts to the pump not the tractor. Connect the PTO and the bracket is captured by the PTO shield to keep the pump from rotating. I’ll snap a photo of it in the morning.

Are you planning to do all 5 acres at once or can you work it a bit at a time?
A small tractor will take some time but you may not want 5 acres of bare dirt.
Consider a subsoil plow and then maybe a tiller. Work it over time and get to know your new land.
How far away is this property? You haven’t mentioned why a trailer to keep the tractor with you isn’t being considered. How frequently are you on site?
