Lets see your weld on bucket hooks

Some people didn't see that OP. Some people use their SCUTs like their pickup - just hook up and yank the thing.. Those people complain about manufacturing quality and it breaks. You ease everything. You never yank it. Friggin city people. Never yank.

Lets see your weld on bucket hooks

It depends on the machine doesn't it? But even with a 1.5 yard bucket on a commercial duty machine it is best practice to keep the load centered. Going to the sides is inviting disaster. The bigger the machine the greater the disaster. On the B7100 when I work it I watch the bucket. If the top...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I took a chance.... I emptied the 100g transfer tank (died) last fall. I haven't done much with the tractors and the 6x4 only sips diesel. I have a 55g drum that was filled full at the same time. The fuel is over 3 years old. When I brought the stuff home I knew it would be a while but I didn't...

Fixing hole in side of block

Like many things the arc was on the rod, not the base. It flowed to the base (the can). The high freq carried the whole thing because the amps were so low. The weld was a blob compared to the can. But it was tight. I won't comment on Canadian beer cans or their beer.

I learned to arc weld in high school. I started with a 4x4x1/4 plate. I also learned to weld with oxy-ace and a coat hanger. There is a place for oxy-ace. I also achieved welding an aluminum beer can with a tig. Nowhere would I do a oxy-ace welds like this. It is just ridiculous.

Awesome dogs / Crazy pets Thread

In all the years of owning GS dogs they were sneaky kitchen counter thieves. One more than another. Oh yeah, the 'I got caught long face' along with a scolding. But for both the dog and me it was all for show. We KNEW what each other was thinking. Me, 'I would do the same thing.' The dog. I have...

Yes. Just a single kiss. It's a non-issue to a 90+# very active protector. It'd be worse damage if they rode to the city on a trip. We eat really good but I wish we could do the same for the dogs. Mass produced dog food sucks. Bubba loves his asparagus stumps. Don't get in the way of his raw...

Wife just bought a pup: another Catahoula. To add to two 7yo critters, male and sister. NOTHING gets through our gate. They love people but never have I seen a dog judge a person in such short order. The dogs nail it every time. If they weird out the person is not trustworthy. Period. They stay...

We have brother and sister Catahoula dogs. The male takes to the wife and the female to me. It's interesting how that works.

They probably treat people and their family the same way so maybe the best ya can say is they are consistent.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Whaaat? Operating temp from 41F to 104? Seriously, what happens below 41F unless ya leave it outside - which is exactly what I will do? The AA batteries just get a little sluggish?

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

OK, this did it. Every night I go out to top off the gen set for the evening run and jack around with the 5g jug. The only thing I don't like is the battery thing. When I first looked this pump up a bunch of 12vdc pumps popped up. You said the batteries lasted you quite a while though. Hmmm...

B7100 (none HST) Seized hydraulic filter nut, and broken gear

The old gear box B7100 as the OP pictured just has a strainer screen with a big 26mm (or so) head. Between the case and the hex is a big banjo fitting where the UTF is the suction side of the hyd pump on the side of the engine. There is no spin on or cartridge filter.

B7100 (none HST) Seized hydraulic filter nut, and broken gear

Pretty sure its #3. The first time I tried to get the strainer off I didn't have a metric that big so I tried the monkey wrench. It would've done the same. But I ended up buying a large socket at NAPA. It's kind of a weird size that you'd probably never use otherwise.

B7100 (none HST) Seized hydraulic filter nut, and broken gear

Think a guy can still buy that from Kubota? You might need to order it from a bone yard? A little voice speaks to me that you're gonna find other problems so best to tear it down completely and start making up your shopping list. On your filter/strainer is the hex stripped or are the case...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I prefer to fix a tire/rim bead instead of using slime. But it's a thing of personal choice. When I was ranching we had pasture cactus deluxe and sometimes you couldn't see them until it was too late. Old hard tractor tires were desirable. I considered but never did do the slime thing except for...
