Any ideas on how I can safely lift and install 18ft pole barn timbers?

I like your plan - but I'm not sure if I can do it that way because I will have a hard time sliding the post into the hole as I am "required" (per Plans) to drive 1/2" rebar through the posts "North to South" and "East to West" at 12", 24" and 36" from the bottom of the post. This is to...

Any ideas on how I can safely lift and install 18ft pole barn timbers?

I haven't checked on my posting in while - so to finish up, I will assure you that these trusses are engineered. I have stamped engineering drawings and those meet the Florida Building code (probably other States too). When I say i am "assembling" the trusses, I mean I bolt the two sections...

Any ideas on how I can safely lift and install 18ft pole barn timbers?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still waiting for a building permit. I will rent an articulating boom lift (or man lift) to set the posts. It is better to be safe than sorry - as they say. if I get a "man lift", I can use that the set the trusses too.

Any ideas on how I can safely lift and install 18ft pole barn timbers?

The skid steer with auger is $410/day (with delivery charge). After I dig the holes, I need to call for an "inspection" before I can set the posts. That inspection might be a couple of days before its scheduled, so the Skid Steer will need to be returned the same day (and I only need a day to...

Any ideas on how I can safely lift and install 18ft pole barn timbers?

I rmis-stated two things. The cost was not $4,500.It was $6,500. That included delivery. Delivery was $840. It is a 36 x 48 structure (39' x 51' roof size). It is open bay (no sides). I can add walls later. I priced around and that was the best I could find. Plus I didn't have a way to pickup...

Any ideas on how I can safely lift and install 18ft pole barn timbers?

This is what I'm thinking too. I don't have any help around (my brother in-law is closest at 2 hours away). We are both in/near our 60's so I can't plan on getting much muscle-type help, that's why I bought the Kubota. But he can help with a guide rope. I will rent something if the Kubota can't...

Any ideas on how I can safely lift and install 18ft pole barn timbers?

Yup.Good advise. That is in the plan. I'm thinking about the pole idea. I could get a 8 or 10 ft pole weld it to some boxed steel where the steel slides over my forks. The pole attached to the steel at a 45 degree angle. That would give me the lifting height so strap is nearer the top of post...

Any ideas on how I can safely lift and install 18ft pole barn timbers?

I have a little BX2370 with pallet fork attachment. I bought a pole barn kit. The posts are 8"x 8" x 18ft. I need to set into 18" x 48" holes. My tractor can lift and carry the poles flat, but I need to lift them standing up right to get into holes. Has anyone done this? How? I saw a YouTube...

Front tires keep going flat. BX2370, Is foaming them an option?

I'm tired of finding my front tires almost flat when I go to use my BX2370. Is having the front tire foam filled an option. I did this on my yard trailers and wheelbarrow and other small equipment. I know foam filling makes the tires heavy. Is that a problem? The other choice is to have...

Oil spraying out oil fill port on Briggs & Stratton

I know not to check oil level with engine running. I know what the correct oil level is. What I was trying to do, was to determine if engine has bad rings and excessive blow-by. In another forum it was said to leave the screw-in dipstick loose (this is an engine where oil filler is on a tube...

Oil spraying out oil fill port on Briggs & Stratton

I know this is not a small engine forum but I figure you guys would be able to help. I received a small 10HP portable generator from a family member that upgraded. It's a 6000W Coleman Powermate. I cleaned fuel system and changed oil. The engine started right up. Sounds okay to me - but I'm not...

Front tires on BX losing air - what sealer is recommended?

Thanks. I see a "jug" is 1 Gallon. Is that what you're recommending - One Gallon per tire". I assume I let all the air out and pump in the Slime. Then "add air" to get to the 17 psi the (Turf) tire requires.

Front tires on BX losing air - what sealer is recommended?

I have to add air about once a month to my BX front tires. Rears are filled and don't leak. What brand tire sealer is recommended to stop this leakage? Preferably something that can be added through the valve stem. Thanks

Can't identify part that fell off tractor.

My guess is that it didn't come from your tractor. It fell off some other piece of machinery.
