L4200 blew blue smoke, bogged down, died and won't restart

I replaced a hydraulic hose on my L4200 which I don't think is related, but it's the last thing I did so I'm posting it here. I started up the tractor normally, went to move some pallets of stuff. everything seems fine. I was lining up to pick up a pallet and not even moving when all of a...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

After my clutch repair I had to test it out. Dug/pushed/pulled an 8" dead Maple into submission, then dug out a couple of volunteer Poplar's about 3" in diameter. Then moved some boulders. Life is good!

    Why won't L4200 wake up?

That didn't take much. Turns out I had missed one of the wire lugs when I reattached the wires to the starter. Once I figured that out it was a 2 minute fix. Of course, as soon as I had the tractor running, one of my loader hydraulic hoses decided to spring a leak. Some days it's just not...

Removing hardened 19mm bolt from cast iron L2800

So I am curious - in this instance, would one of those inductive heaters help to remove the bolt? Something like the Bolt Buster® Magnetic Induction Heater Tool? They seem like a neat tool, and I'd love a good excuse to add one to the toolbox *IF* they really add value and aren't just a...

    Why won't L4200 wake up?

I'm *SURE* this is something stupid that I did, so let's get that out of the way to start with.... I replaced the clutch in my L4200GST and *just* finished getting it back together. I was going to test run it today, but I only had time for a quick check before it starting pouring rain. When I...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I got a little ambitious... Lost the clutch after only 550 hours, but almost exactly 20 years. Turns out that the clutch lever that moves the thrust bearing was rusted/corroded/junkified into place and didn't move - at all! I was able to move it slightly with a BFH, so ended up driving it out...

    L4200 GST sputters and dies?

OK - color me stupid! I went back out today after the rain quit and flowed the fuel flow from the tank. Got down to the filter housing where it stopped. Since I never use it, I TOTALLY FORGOT about the fuel shut off there. Can you guess where this is going? Yes, the #^&$()* fuel shutoff was...

    L4200 GST sputters and dies?

OK - I will dig into that tomorrow and report back.

    L4200 GST sputters and dies?

On my tank the two 'stubs' are at the same height on the side of the tank. Obviously one is the inlet and one is the outlet. I *assumed* the outlet goes down to the fuel filter - or at least that made sense to me. AFAI can tell, there isn't any outlet at the bottom of the tank?

    L4200 GST sputters and dies?

I should also mention that when it was running prior to dying it ran at idle, but died under load. I guess a lack of fuel would explain that, huh?

    L4200 GST sputters and dies?

I have had my L4200GST since 1994 and love it, but lately it started acting up. Sometimes it is OK, but other times it sputters and dies for no apparent reason. I have: Verified that fuel tank is FULL (right now. this has occurred over multiple tanks) Replaced the fuel filter Replaced the air...
