    RTV 500 fuel issue

I once owned a ‘78 F-150 Ranger Lariat (351M engine) that did that when brand-new. After a few months of being P-O’d over that…. I wrapped the fuel line from the pump to the carb with crumpled aluminum-foil as insulator-and-heat-sink….. and the problem disappeared for the next 15 years …then...

Is luxury tractor tax a thing ?

Having toiled as a deprived youngster behind reel-type push-mowers and extensive use of pick-axes and shovels …. a Tractor….ANY TRACTOR……. IS… a ”luxury”. 😅 The 9N I used for 15+ yrs to shred 27 acs of turf runways was a life-saver! My 47-HP Orange Kubota is PURE Luxury. :p

    Need some help .

They may have come from the original assembly at the factory and a lazy or heavily-pressured assy-line worker simply grabbed another and finished the job knowing it’d cause no problem.

Cheaper than Cheap Lightweight Box Blade

Common sense: If it’s SO CHEAP as to raise questions….. Then the answer is likely the obvious. BUT…if all you need to spread-out and around some loose dirt and smooth-over an existing dirt or gravel road…. it’ll prob‘ly do the light-duty job.

    Stump Grinder and M62

Not to hi-jack your excellent discussion…(this comment is for those who came to learn about sump grinders because they have a problem with stump removals)…...but MY “best” method to get rid of stumps …has been to chain-saw the tree as close to the ground as possible and… (let the stump “die” if...

    Kubota B26 Steering Wheel Removal

YEP! THAT’s the “technique!” Leave the loosened nut on the spline-shaft and , while pulling up on the steering-wheel with whatever…(i used a gear-puller)… Whack! the nut smartly…and the wheel comes right off! Hint: When re-installing the steering wheel… first paint a little anti-seize on...

Looks like a clean tire puncture

I had an opportunity to Meet and Greet Robert Duvall in the mid ‘90’s when he arrived without fanfare (and in disheveled costume) to be my only passenger from Austin to Abilene where he was acting in “The Stars Fell on Henrietta” … a “wildcat oil driller” movie. The previous week, my...

How LARGE is that Septic Tank..?? Will your tractor FIT INSIDE IT? If so, it’s gonna be a Mess if you survive it.

Looks like a clean tire puncture

Yep. Tires are more expensive than that. Also, consider that only a PORTION of that $810 was the actual parts to repair. The Majority was the Service-Call plus the Labor. A new tire under the same circumstances would likely include Service-All labor in addition to the tire. (and...

    Starter Relay

When batteries get “weak” …. it ‘s tempting for owners to drag-out the replacment-purchase…hoping to get maximum value out of the old battery before spending money on a new one. This can be False-Economy. Continuing to use the old, weak battery can lead to damage of other components, for...

Looks like a clean tire puncture

In that video …they refer to him as an “old man”. That’s hard work in harsh conditions…and he does an amazing job returning that tire to service. He’s almost 30 yrs old.

Looks like a clean tire puncture

“Runs with Scissors” is a really Like-able Guy. His opinions are …well…. mostly good. But We All have momentary failures. (my wife says so.) DO NOT PUT ANY KIND OF GOOP in that tire if you want to save that tire. I actually like a particular brand of goop for preventive, anti-thorn...

    Engine oil question.

Then it wasn’t the bearings. It’s the shaft or other issue.

    Engine oil question.

That oil can sit for YEARS….and it will STILL be ON the bearings, shafts, etc…. instantly ready to lubricate at start-up. (It’s a common “worry” many owners have about initial oil pressure at startup. But engines do NOT wear out bearings and there-by need overhaul/rebuild. Ever. I’ve...

    Finished my fueling station

@jyoutz : That’s a nice set-up…. And that’s a Very Good Filter set-up. Don’t worry about changing that filter element…. EVER. (no joking) The amount of fuel you’ll use in your lifetime will never task that filter. (I have mine on a 40-yr old converted propane-tank that had questionable...

    Really smart guys

That statement may have some truth in it… but it’s not the primary reason. The Primary reason mfr’s and dealers rarely supply NOS parts more than 10 years old is due to simple marketing/accounting practices coupled to tax-policies. I used to work with a warehouse-man for Chrysler/MoPar in...

    Starter Relay

Couple years ago my Kubota starter relay died. Kubota wanted first-born male grandchild plus shipping for that relay. Used a common automotive “cube” relay (they’re all rated 40A)…. at the ”jungle” …. 4 of ‘em …with leads….for $13. Installed one. That was years ago. Still works great...

    Really smart guys

It’s because Amazon was able to market it without having to “warehouse” or “floorplane” it for months or years. Don’t worry. You got it cheap. Be happy.
