Already have a new block with file fit rings fitted to the bore. Just waiting for the seal kit with piston and rod to show up.

    Riding lawnmower spindle bearings

I use majestic jt6 or something like that. Only because I found a busted case of it on the side of the road with most of the tubes still useable, even the crushed tubes were salvageable, they got squeezed into an empty bucket and used. Took me about 5 years to use it all and I was not stingy...

The rings are overlapping a bit. Normally when I use +0.01'' rings over the size of the actual bore as file fits they usually have very little to no gap. Made sure to get actual Honda rings.

Yeah my tractor is still mostly orange with some stainless steel piping.

    Riding lawnmower spindle bearings

3 or 4 bolt, 3/8 or 7/16 threaded bolt, looks like they take the same bearings. One mower a nearly 20 year old 42 inch uses 3 bolt spindles with 3/8 fine thread bolt to hold the blades on, the other mower from about 2015 uses 4 spinde to deck bolts with 7/16 fine thread blade bolt. Both have...

Conveniently the std bore block and +.01'' rings showed up first. I'm thinking bust out the ring grinder, which means put my dermal in a vise and gap them. Probably do 0.015''.

It's a john deere powered generator I maintain (I'm not the guy who services it, guy who services it is in deep brown stuff). My little 185DT turbota is still running great.

    Canadian Wildfires

It doesn't. It's a convenient scapegoat that might help the left side get what they want. Chances are the fire was started by a person and burned up over grown public lands. That's how it always happens here in the US. When a wild fire hits paper company land or lumber company land, they stop.

    Global Warming

Wow first week of June and I'm wearing my zip up carhartt jacket till about lunch time, probably 6 of the last 7 days. I'm in new Mexico, it should be about 80F by lunch time.

I didn't turn up the fuel on mine as it was rolling coal with out the turbo. I bet egt was hitting 1,100 to 1,200f now it's probably barely going over 1,000f.

De-CARB'ed engine. I also picked up a 0.01'' head gasket, normal head gasket is 0.45'' that should take the compression from 8:1 up to about 8.5:1, file fit rings for even more compression and 2 and 4 degree ignition timing advance/retard key ways. Make this engine what it always should have...

As long as you aren't doing anything crazy you shouldn't need an EGT. If you pop the waste gate and roll coal, then yeah.

    Global Warming

I'm still wearing my coat in new Mexico as of June 1st and lit the wood stove may 17th. Usually the last fire is middle of April.

Not so cheap. I got an electric start std bore block and two .25mm/0.01'' thick head gaskets from a go kart site for $153. New cam followers for $14. Std piston and ring kit with other seals for $41 +.25mm over size rings from another go kart site for $23 to use as file fit rings. Then if I want...

Honda gx390 engine ticks, burns oil, 72psi compression.

I got it apart. The bore has some taper, and the rings were severely worn, the oil rings had odd wear and virtually no tension. Couldn't find my plasti-gauge but the rod seems to rattle around on the crank quite a bit. Crank seems fine. The roller bearings are great, nice and tight no wobble...

The old Gx390 had plenty of power for a wood chipper. Before it was on the wood chipper it was on my stump grinder and it was scarry. The 459cc powered stump grinder is unstoppable.

I took it out of service and replaced it with a predator 459cc from China freight for about $560 out the door. This weekend I'll at least get the head off the old gx390 and see how bad the bore taper is. If the weather is nice I'll pull it apart and see what else it needs. Side bearings...
