    Low range or high range

The only one I ever heard was "lug the engine" or more often "don't lug the engine" when I was learning to drive :)

SURVEY: Chattering 3 Point (going up)

I hope you are right about cold in this case. I would not like to think it was developing the problem of Ray's tractor. It was about 40F out (viewed as nice around here). I used it for about an hour and then went in the house for lunch, left it outside, came back out and wanted to pick the...

    newbie 3 point question

If you have your implements on a concrete or wood floor, dollies are a big help. Elsewhere on the forum I have seen quite elegant ones made with big wheels and structures specific to the implement, but I am for the moment getting by with 3 furniture dollies from Harbor Freight for $9 apiece for...

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

Mountain View pointed out there might be hazards to making a downward extension. Here is a picture to illustrate the problems someone might or might not have if they bought a Woods blade for one of these tractors. I lucked out because I bought a 6 foot blade, mostly because that was as big as...

SURVEY: Chattering 3 Point (going up)

It may not be entirely true that the problem doesn't occur in the Grand L's :(. Maybe mine was just cold yesterday, but it did jerk going up. It sat for a while while I had lunch.

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

Well that gives me some things to try tomorrow. My blade is supposed to swivel all the way around but I didn't actually try it yet. So I will before I take it off and do NIW's check on the feedback lever, and see what happens when I move the lifting rods closer to the axles. Diesel and Mtn...

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

The weather is going to stay relatively warm, so NIW I believe I can park the blade on dollies and leave the quick hitch on it, this gal even when younger didn't lift 100 lbs! Or at least that is what my kubota dealer said it weighed. So Bruce when I do that experiment, I will also see what...

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

Thanks MagKarl, I hesitate to say "Let it Snow" so I can try it out in case I bring down a blizzard for Xmas, so if the snow gods are listening I didn't say it.

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

Ok here are the results of the latest trials. Not to worry, nobody has muddied any water as far as I am concerned, please continue with comments, I appreciate your patience with a newbie. The problem I was trying to solve was to adjust the 3 pt so that the plow support beam was level at...

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

Hi Shaun, Diesel, and Cerlawson, first let me tell you that what is optimal might not be practical for me to do (older than my Ford 8N by some, retired prof, and female so not much hand strength, and 0 welding experience, not that I wouldn't like to learn). That said the best part about this...

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

Those look better, I think an assortment of sizes would be good to have around. I don't like the key ring type lock that comes as original on the Kubota part of the hitch either. I know, picky picky, but try getting those in focus with your bifocals in a not too well lit barn. I think the...

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

I like the idea of attaching a "leash" to the hairpins. I keep trying to bend them to make them easier to get out, but it takes two hands on a screw driver through the loop and they go flying. Ok on the barn floor, not so good in the snow. If the blade fell off my rig I'd be up the proverbial...

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

Agreed! With both you and Wolfman making the same suggestion I thought I'd better try it first, even if I couldn't see why it would work by looking at the angles. And having to buy more stuff is not appealing. Help is good! By my calculation there are 27 possible combinations of pins and...

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

Update: This morning I tried the suggestion of NIW and mtn view, to move the attachment of the top link to the tractor down to the lowest hole. Eureka! It helps. I could have stared at the back end of the tractor all day and would not have guessed it. To get the support beam of...

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

Thanks Wolfman, sounds like I better go out and try that tomorrow. Sounds like snow is headed our way, and maybe you guys already have it at your end of the country. Will report back!

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

tcrote and mtn view, I've attached two more pictures of the angles of the top link. If I shorten the top link by twisting the gadget in the middle I have much more lift of the implement, and there is plenty of thread in that direction, but it isn't level lift. At the quick hitch end there are...

Not enough lift in 3pt to adjust blade well?

Hi tcrote, thanks for replying. I am not sure which vertical post you are looking at? Part of the blade itself? The black vertical thing in those pictures is the Quick Hitch. It is a Woods 6 ft blade, rated for any tractor less than 75 hp. Mine is 35.
