    Chinese tires and tubes

I think they have good stuff but it isn't what you get on a Gorilla cart or a two wheel. They all rot in a year or two - they are crap. Yu buy expensive, you buy cheap stuff, they are the same crap. and there are replacements because the frame is still good but the replacements are crap. I get...

    FAST B7100

Got it. The adjustment screw for steering play was WAY wrong. To get the play out took the screw way down below the locknut. This is why the unit was on Amazon for the cheap? So I'm inside the 30 days and it's going back. Garbage and manure coming from Amazon, even from a seemingly good vendor...

Best ideas for adjustable lifting strap or chains?

I've welded hooks on my loader buckets for convenience. But nothing is more important than the risk of failure at the job at hand. Case in point: I recently filled a 100g tank of diesel (again) and had to get it out of the pickup box. I USED LIFTING STRAPS. Cheap, Harbor Freight with a chain to...

Yup, on the agenda today. Have to be careful to not show any tool marks in the event the box has to go back. I don't know how the locknut holds the adjustment screw and seals at the same time - yet. But darn it, a manufacturer fresh part and I have to tear into it out-of-the-box. To add, I am...

This is a bummer.... The new steering gear/box from Kumar Bros via Amazon, I filled it with 90wt. It's ready to install but yesterday I noticed the 90wt is leaking out of the adjustment locknut. I've got a few more days before the 30 day return window to investigate further but I'm not getting...

I need wiring for a Kubota

@david_vechirko , are you good with electrical stuff? Just seeing that abortion of wires in your pictures would have me finding individual problems vs replacing a harness in total. And how much stuff has to come apart so you can lay in the new harness and dress it out? Are you going to open up...

I need wiring for a Kubota

My sympathies. I was expecting that it burnt up or had a major rodent event. Are you doing this as a restoration or just need it to be functional? And safe? I rewired much of my ol B7100 but it's a MUCH less complex electrical system. But the biggest PITB for me are harness interconnects and...

It's in, finally. I don't even have to paint it! Brand new! I haven't oiled it up but with my fingers there is more play in the steering wheel shaft without the output moving than I like. I'm gonna have to look into tightening this a bit before I install it. I'd say 10 degrees with just fingers...

You are doing something right. We bought recreational property many years ago and built a house for a place to retire. We are still trying to find out what's recreational about it?!?

That's me. A geared machine with a clutch. And this is why I hate MS Windows. It's the computer version of automatic transmissions.

I was in town yesterday and the store had the full display rack of Rustoleum. From memory it looks like what they call Dark Grey Gloss was the closest match. There is no option called Old Faded Oxidized Dark Grey Matte. ;)

Enjoyed reading the story and the pictures. It brought back a memory of our current (and final) place. When I moved to the PNW from the Midwest I brought the B7100 and all the attachments. The 'ol machine ran great but I couldn't find the backhoe. At 25 years old I had given up finding one...

    Dooh! day

I have many, many pictures in my memories. Nobody still alive can verify the descriptions. Why am I still alive? Its a sentence, I'm sure. To those left around me.

Done. But I'll have to paint it. Thanks Wolfman. That paint for blue stuff isn't readily available.

Recommendations? I'd do the two main parts but maybe best to swap out the box?

It is in the box, not the ends. Right in the middle. I know not to tighten it. But I rarely go fast and I was actually impressed. The 'ol thing really hunkered down but was a bit smoky. There is no reconciliation of total hours. At least three hour meters since I got it. But it just goes and goes.

This is a place holder so I get feed. I'll study further and read more detail. We have land++ with non-resident owners all around who only come here to hunt and do things that are illegal to do in the city. I hope you are a good neighbor. Looks to be so.
