    3 Point PTO Shaft Greasing

Like D2Cat, I grease u joints frequently. The sliding portion of the PTO shaft is done once every season. PTO shafts like on my post hole digger that I use only every few years I actually take apart and store that way. I've found that if not used often the lubricant hardens and then it...

Recommendations for Chain and Binders or Other Tie Downs for Tractor Transport.

Well, I read that article and it also mentions tying down the Ranger with rope????? Watch some of Matt's Off-road recovery videos and see where they attach straps when hauling out a disabled side by side on a trailer.

Recommendations for Chain and Binders or Other Tie Downs for Tractor Transport.

Biggest mistake I see when strapping down side by sides or Jeeps is attaching the straps to the body or frame of the vehicle, then cinching the suspension down. Straps should ALWAYS be attached to axles or the wheels themselves. I've many thousands of miles towing my Can-am Defender - I bet...

Recommendations for Chain and Binders or Other Tie Downs for Tractor Transport.

My recommendation would be ratchet straps - but get the ones with the chain ends. Much handier to hook around things - and they will not get abraded or cut by sharp edges. I've used these for years now and with the chain ends they don't wear out.

    Gas question

Only one chain (Maverick) offers ethanol-free gasoline in northern Nevada, and it is 88 octane and costs the same as Premium gas. I use it in all my small engines. Haven't had to replace the small rubber fuel lines on my lawn mower/weedeater/chainsaws since I started using ethanol free. Had...

Organized at last! How I keep my cargo straps in order.

What I use also. Mine are almost 10 years old now and still work as new. They've worked so well that I recently bought more and use them for storing extension cords and hoses and any number of other stuff I have around my homestead.

Organized at last! How I keep my cargo straps in order.

We got a set of those in the 1-1/2" size to tie down our Search and Rescue side by side. And had to quit using them because once they got dirt in them (driving down dusty roads) pushing that red tab to get them to release or to retract no longer worked. They refused to release at all so we had...

    A truck and trailer thread.

It'd spoil you on propane if you had to buy it at the prices around here. For years now the price of propane has mirrored the price of regular gas. This fall a gallon of propane will set you back about $3.40.

$600 for 4 cords of firewood? That's really cheap compared to here in northern Nevada. Prices I've been seeing range from $300 - $400 a cord - and that's not split, just the rounds. But then you have a lot more trees in your "neck of the woods" than what we have here in northern Nevada!

    Wheel/Tire weird bump or something

LOL! Rear tires on my old John Deere 2020 are at least 20 years old. After sitting for a while, when I drive down my driveway the tractor noticeable rocks side to side because of the flat spotting. But if I work the tractor hard for an hour or so that all goes away.

I think those are just the coolest insects ever! I was working in my garage a few months ago and one of those (but a green color) was on my hat, peering over the edge of the bill down at me....

    Daily Chuckle

For several years if I typed my own address into Google maps it would show a location 4 miles away. Problem was only recently corrected, after multiple complaints.

Phone app to log/track maintenance for everything

Every rig I own has its own maintenance log. But I also use the "Felt Tiply" method on all the oil and hydraulic filters. I can see at a glance when getting on or off the tractor how many hours since the filter was changed, and the date it was changed. Same when I look into the engine...

922,832 miles on F-350 Super Duty 6.7L used to deliver campers!

^This! Powerstroke - Cummins - Duramax....they are all good engines. But as with anything mechanical, there were years/models to stay away from because they were more prone to problems. I have two Cummins-powered trucks myself but I would not hesitate to own a Powerstroke. Know several...

    Aiming the forks.

Can't stand up in my cab to see the tips of the forks so I too had to buy a backup camera. Magnetic mount so it sticks to the frame of the forks, and an 8" monitor mounted on the Kubota's dash. Helps a lot - but takes some practice to use.

    Dryer Repair

Bought my GE dryer in August of 1980, so exactly 45 years ago. Still works fine...but then, I use it at the most maybe 5 times a year, usually during December and January. Here in Nevada with abundant sunshine and single-digit humidity the sun and wind work faster - and cheaper!
