Adapted a Linear Actuator to a Pull Behind Spreader

Linear actuators are the ticket for remotely controlling some things. I used them on a snow blower chute and on my QA loader levers. Both were ordered to the strength and almost exact length needed. Fine tuning the length was done via the attachment bracket fab. I am the "neighbor kid" that...

    BX SnowPusher

In many cases that's true, but not for everyone. Much of my snow removal is parking lots. After trying rear blades, loader buckets, rear blower and an 8' front blade on a QA (each for several snows / multiple seasons) I'm settled on the 8' Fisher on the QA. On driveways the blower was great...

    Question for the colective

I haven't found it today but about a week ago I saw a YouTube guy had a DIY crane boom on a trailer that was connected to a receiver hitch on the front of a jeep (i think). He picked a beam and drove it a short distance to set it.

    Question for the colective

My smaller winch has been plugged into the receiver on the 4240 a few times. It isn't anything special. HF with wireless remote. Here are a few pix when there were three 700#-ish A/C compressors that needed to go from the below grade boiler room to a trailer at church.

    Question for the colective

The lifting ability with a pole 6' in front of the loader would be very limited. If you had something like the one that torch made, and had it vertical and sitting on the floor before picking the load, it could lift a tremendous amount. Or, you could rent something like I used when I built my...

    Boyd Inspection Plate Installation

Never heard of these before, but used a DIY plate on the diesel tank of my generator recently. See below. I read the instructions on the Boyd site and they say to use a .201 MIN bit. Can't see that it's super critical for holes that #10 screws are to pass through.

Hood crease as already noted plus it looks like the front wheels are toe out a bit. Again, could be camera.

One hour job takes..... Too long. Like this post.

Here are both ends of the spectrum for me. They have a number of siblings in between. Out of all of them the little guy is so handy that I keep one in the garage and one in the truck.

My go-to tools when there's a fight to be won. Either the Channellock 215 Filter Pliers that was on sale somewhere years ago or the Channellock BigAzz. George wanted to pose with them for size reference.

ROPS lights - pods vs light bar

There are lots of threads on lighting. My preference is LED floods because you want to light wide nearby areas. Spots aren't useful on something that only travels 17MPH. Individual lights / pods can be aimed independently and that's an advantage over bars. I think some people go with light...

    Box Blade

While any purchase should be researched, the box blade (for me) wasn't very involved. Didn't need something to pass along to the grandkids or something that weighed 1,200#. The intended use was transforming 1-1/2 acres of corduroy textured cornfield into more grass to mow around 2013. Found a...

Since discovering how slippery printed cardboard is, the TV boxes, etc get saved and the creeper stays tucked away. The cardboard works anywhere.

Tbe one that took me a while was the Tonya pic because I didn't recognize her at first. IIRC, she subcontracted the work.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Fill mine before parking it when work is done. It gets turned off but only because it's more peaceful. Diesel doesn't concern me but i always squint when gassing up the (hot but turned off) pressure washer.

    Good Morning

Things are starting to green up again here. Light frost the other morning. 54° here this AM. #3 Son's family headed to Raystown Lake for a few days hoping the rain doesn't get that far inland. Not a lot of color around here.

    Metal hydraulic line keeps blowing

I'm thinking that's a contributor as well. Is there any reason the hose couldn't maybe take a slightly different route so it would fit? Not on a tractor, but I've seen tubing fail at bends. I thought it was due to the place in the line that absorbs the movement, plus the metal gets stressed...

    Old Movies

Always loved Clint's "spaghetti westerns" and recently have been finding others like the Lee Van Cleef movies and just watched the 2-1/2 hour version of Duck You Sucker with James Coburn and Rod Steiger.

Seeking: spreader bar / load control shaft

I built a receiver for the L4240 for mounting the winch cradle and general use. If you don't need to hang weights on the front, this is a good solid mount. The winch doesn't get mounted unless I need it for something.
