Will these Prince pumps self prime? Designing the oil tank and planning the hose routing and need to know if the oil should gravity feed to the inlet.

Actually, it was cut out on a water jet. Used some nylon that was collecting dust. If you have access to something that can cut it out, I'd be happy to send a file of the cam profile- just pm me.

Now that the pump fits the PTO shaft, I started planning the torque arm. My plan is to use the center holes in the 3PH upper link angles and a long 3/4 bolt with either a spring or rubber cushion on the end. The pump will still be able to 'float' on the shaft with this arm plus it will keep the...

Started getting the pump fitted up to the tractor PTO. The angle brackets for the upper link on the 3PH were in the way, so I marked them and machined off the angle legs with a roughing end mill. I chose a 3/4" end mill to leave a good fillet for strength. Ordered some Kubota gray for touch up.

Why is brake pedal on some models on same side as HST pedals?

I modified the clutch pedal on my 3901 so when you depress it, it will apply the brakes also. This is just for emergency in case the hydro pedal would stick, depressing the clutch pedal would disconnect the motor and stop the momentum of the tractor. Have my wife and grandson practice using it...

Here's what I did to make fueling my 3901 easier. I made a cam to hold the button down rather than standing there with my thumb falling asleep.

Those are my lock cylinders for taking the slack out of the boom when grinding. They are single acting cylinders with spring return that I found on EBay for $10 each. It would be ideal if I can come up with a system that would release the pressure automatically when extending and retracting the...

I bought them at Fleet Farm, which I believe is only in the Midwest. Handy little guys for sure!

Got the swivel made for the swing cylinder and the mounts located. Tested the swing and all looks good. Installed the lock cylinders to check for clearance issues and all look OK, except that I see a guard coming for the bottom ones in the future.

Working on the end mount for the swing cylinder. Looks like 10 degrees will give me a 90 degree angle when the boom is straight. Cut and threaded some round stock and then milled it at 10 degrees. Tacked in place and looks like the angle will work well.

Thanks coachgeo! I found a site that has a good match for the new orange, or so they claim. Ordered some today to try it out. Orange would be my first choice anyway, but I know from trying a couple different orange RAL colors that there isn't a good match for the new, redder orange.

Trust me. No lack of stumps. We'll know by the end whether we have a good machine or not!

Got the boom mounted to the main frame with the cylinder and starting to work on the swing cylinder swivel. Mounted the motor and drive just to make sure there will be no clearance issues.

Thinking ahead, I would like to powder coat this when done. Has any body tried to match the rops gray up to an RAL chart?

Got the boom mounted and the cylinder plate located and welded. I knew it was going to be close to the grease fitting, but made it with a little room to spare.

Mounting the swivel clevises to the main frame. The ones for the boom and vertical cylinder are pretty straight forward. I want to mount the boom with the cylinder attached to the main frame to locate the other end of the cylinders. Just the old school way I still prefer.

Tacked up the shorter main frame and checked for fit. This one is within 1/2" of the lowest part of my tractor and that works for me. Finished the welding and next up will be welding on the swivels.

Good eye! It doesn't hit but it is close. I joked to myself that I'll know when the pins are worn when the fitting breaks off. Its on my list to put them back on the mill and recess them before final assembly.

Just putting the details on the swivels such as the grease fittings and pins.
