How many amps does an alternator generate on an L275 or L235? I have devised a solution for installing H3 bulbs as headlight replacements, and according to a wattage calculator a pair of them should draw just over 9 amps total. Will this be too much drain on the system?

Well, there's not much difference cosmetically between the "before" and "after" other than the current lack of a 3" hole in the side of the engine, to be honest. It's just a huge relief to have it operating normally.

Yep, 25* BTDC is what my books say, too. I just have no idea how it could be out of time so far unless the pump gear is way off. Sure wish there was a way to check those marks on the gears without pulling the front of the engine apart.

I would be willing to put money on the fact we had all the dots lined up on the gears, but that was last summer (it's been sitting since then). Is it possible for the dots to be lined up but somehow still be out of phase?
