Don't buy a bigger tractor than you need.

Trail creation and mowing. Logging firewood. Digging ponds and swales. Mowing 2-3 acres around our home. Snow blowing driveway, parking, and trail system. Leveling and grading driveways. Chipping brush and firewood branches. Moving firewood crates from drying shed to house. Trenching power and...

Lol 26HP on our 119 acres is just right for me.

    What's your fuel consumption like?

Average about 1/2 gallon per hour. The 5 gallon tank can get from around 8 to 16 hours depending on job. Front mount snow blower with heavy snowfall clearing eats the most fuel/hour. No complaints!

    Winter Diesel Treatment Review

Sea Foam for all my equipment fuels. Gas and diesel, year round. 150ml/20L jug, at the pump. Never had a single fuel problem. -35C to +35C. 7 years and 1300 hours on the tractor. Fuel filter is washed in kerosene and the previously cleaned spare rotated into service at recommended service...

    Pucker moment

If the front hydraulics can lift the rear off the ground there's not enough weight for counterbalance in that 3-point ballast box. Or the weight isn't far enough back. My box-blade is enough to keep my rear tires planted when there's as much weight on the forks as the loader hydraulics can...

Wintertime hydraulics not working and related maintenance question

In SE Manitoba here. -30C winter nights are not unusual. So for a COLD morning start, this is my B2650HSD startup routine: (note - I now use 5w-40 Rotella T6 synth engine oil year round. Makes cold starts better than 10W oils) 1. First, when I park the tractor after use I set the rpm to around...

    Snowblower model information

Go to messicks.com parts catalogue, search for your B2910 model, then on diagram menu select attachments. I see the B2781/2782 front blower setup including mid-pto sub-frame. https://www.messicks.com/catalogs/kubota/b2910hsd#attachments

    Kubota B2650 pto operation

He's in Portugal, B2650 (no HST or HST) may be a thing there? This WSM page screenshot shows a manual tranny B2650 ROPS variant: From https://www.slideshare.net/slideshow/kubota-b2050-b2350-b2650-b3150-service-manual/215876317#6

    Snowblower and gravel roads

No blade or RTV here but between the front snow blower, box blade, and front end loader I've also got some redundancy.

    Snowblower and gravel roads

My snowblower doubles as a grass trimmer and gravel ridge leveler at the beginning of winter. It's been through 7 winters of this, and other than some paint chipped off here and there it still rips through the snowbanks like new. The inside of the blower housing and chute are nicely shined up...

    Wood chips in hydraulic filter

Some chainsawing near the back of the tractor where the fill opening is, with the cap left off?

    Kubota ordering system outage coming?

The name is an initialism of the company’s original German name: Systemanalyse Programmentwicklung, which translates to System Analysis Program Development. Enterprise Resource Management software. They're a huge co. No idea why they're reviled. Probably too big for their boots, like Microsoft...

Rolling coal? Lots of soot under load - B2601

I take care of my equipment. It just has seen some heavy work over 6 years. It's still running pretty much like the day I got it new. And I don't "abuse" that equipment. I work hard with my tractor and sometimes tough sticks worm their way between the engine and its various parts while I'm...

Rolling coal? Lots of soot under load - B2601

B2650HSD here. For heavy digging I use higher revs, maybe 2200-2300 rpm (2500 is my unit's "operating" rpm) and if lugging enough to start any visible smoking I ease up on the operation a bit. It's the HST you're stomping too hard for the compact tractor to sustain. Especially while lifting...

Rolling coal? Lots of soot under load - B2601

That unit would be torn off by the bush within a few months. I've already broke the tailpipe off of the B2650 twice. The latest welds are holding.

    Snowblower Revs on a BX2680

I always run at or near the suggested operating rpm, 2500 for the front pto on my machine. Then I adjust the tractor forward speed with the HST pedal according to snow conditions. The way it works for me is at full rpm the blower second stage does the best job of blowing the furthest, every...

Cold weather OPEN station snow plowing/blowing.

The swirls! My driveway opens suddenly to our parking area facing NW when driving in, and I've gotten pretty good at re-aiming the chute just before coming around that corner. The dusty blowing snow does a 180 and hits from the opposite direction just before that point. It still catches me by...
