David Copperfield, please meet Sherlock Holmes……………….

I doubt the bolt & clip were chewed to dust. That was a Friday or Monday diffy and the bolt was never installed. Noise made by that diff’ would have likely been on acceleration…. due to the rear pinion bearing going-out. That ring gear is so beefy, it might have gone another qtr-million...

First time owner of a diesel tractor with questions

My friend, the dealer telling you it’s OK is worthless …in fact, may prove harmful, ….and bad advice. Personally, the FIRST service period of a new machine is the Most Important. (I cut open the filter to make certain there’s no bad chunks in it. Guess what is commonly found? RTV (silicon...

M9540 3 pt. hitch speed control problem

I was making a joke about the term “vice president”. I was using American English since I’m American and this is ’merica!

    B7200 running hot

It’s a subjective matter to judge how much rust/corrosion and radiator blockage you might have. But flushing with plain water is a good idea, and again, consider sending the radiator out to a radiator shop.

First time owner of a diesel tractor with questions

I’m surprised that Kubota gave “permission” to skip a service interval. That implies they will still honor a warranty …which was Violated. 🧐 BTW, exactly WHO at “Kubota” …gave “permission”..?? The dealer…??….who has no incentive to honor a warranty…? Or someone at Corporate…?? … who gave...

    B7200 running hot

I offer the advice to AVOID CHEMICALS. I’m 3/4’s of a century old…and I have a LOT of experience from my youth of using cooling-system chemicals…which convinced me the Chemicals are BAD. Each and Every time I used them…. I lost the water pump shortly thereafter. If you plan to keep that...

M9540 3 pt. hitch speed control problem

Item 3 is mis-spelled. VICE… is a word to describe morally wrong behavior or a defect in character. (Hence the term “vice-president”.) However, VISE… is a word to describe a clamping tool with moveable jaws such as a bench-vise, or vise-grip pliers.

L3901 - overheating after extended, heavy duty brush hogging

The overflow tank seems to be working properly then. As the machine heats up…the expanding coolant eventually over-pressures the radiator-cap relief and the coolant escapes the radiator tank.…into the overflow tank (also called a reservoir.) Before the use of overflow-tanks…that coolant...

Suspension Seat on a Zero Turn?

Are your tires being run at the recommended pressure? My mower had a “hard” ride….. until I reduced the tire pressure from 35 psi (as received) ..to the 18 psi the manual specified. It rides fine subsequently.

    L4310, HST, 4x4: hazards/turn signal

It’s unlikely that a “flat connector” is to be grounded. It’s more likely it’s to be connected to a receptacle… or a “spare” receptacle which was optional equipment/perhaps never installed. If you test it’s contacts or wire for “current” and is found to be “hot” then it is likely the latter...

Speedi-Sleeve to solve 4WD Front Axle Leak on an L3010 Bevel Gear Case

I suspect you are experiencing what I went thru….. a couple years ago …(I”ll try to find a link and edit this post)… My Left Front bevel case seal was leaking. The Parts diagram showed it as a two-piece seal…. so I was mislead and and ended up destroying the new seal trying to install it. IN...

Front axle center pivot o ring replacement?

@NorthwoodsLif : What you posted makes some sense. If it were a high-wear point you’d think K would have made Mine greaseable from the the get-go… I also wonder if I couldn’t service it by simply removing the adjustment-bolt at the front…shooting grease in it (moly-grease perhaps) and...

    L4310, HST, 4x4: hazards/turn signal

Electrical Wiring is like plumbing. For water to flow (current) to the hydrant there must be pressure (Voltage) in the pipe (wire) from the source (battery) all the way to the hydrant. When the hydrant is flowing the water (current) will fall to the ground (your battery-neg-terminal or...

    The RC72-29A driveshaft clocking mystery

The DriveShaft is clearly Not out-of-Phase …. but your mower might need to be rotated a few degrees….if I’m understanding your post. You Do Not want to cut the u-joints off and re-weld them in a different position. You either need to rotate your tractor pto OR the mower-input shaft.

    L3301 OIL PRESSURE

You’re entitled to your opinion. I’m speaking from personal experience with tractors, boats, and many vehicles. My 9N Ford tractor ran on 15-20 psi for over 20 years without difficulty, and it was worked Hard. When hot , it idled at 5 psi. All bearings require is lubrication for friction...

    L3301 OIL PRESSURE

Hokie… you yourself posted the chart which allows 7 psi at idle. My comments were not referencing Kubota WSM… they were anecdotal for purposes of reassuring the OP’s concerns.

    Not Kubota Related Dwell Meter

I still have the one I bought in a pawn shop in 1980 for $10… combo dwell, tach, voltage, etc. I last used it on my ‘84 Volvo sterndrive. Easy substitute: adjust the points with a feeler gauge and be done with it. ;)
