I built an 8 x 18 'annex' to the garage to put furnace and air compressor in, also stores a lot of small engines,supplies, and 'weird stuff'.. If the air tank blew, it'll take out the furnace, and if that's running, I'll never know the air tank blew.

hmm, casing is $330 + 13% taxes so no way I'm going whack neighbour's pipe plug ! I wonder is 'they' used some locktite on the plug ?? Has anyone actually had their out ? This is a 1 year old blower, tractor(BX2380) is 2 summers old ,has a whopping 30.8 hrs on it....

Probably needs a valve job,they look like feeler gauges..... DV has them, could be in a 'kit', check online for pricing. FWIW dang motor is maybe $400 to buy now !!!

Home Hardware 'Kubota orange' both spray and US gallon (alkyd) is same as my 2018 BX23S paint colour... Most ( any ?) auto paint supply store has the numbers and can scan a part for colour. There's 3 choices... single stage(base) AND clear(real old school), base-clear stinky(old school) ...

So neighbour with this unit( I KNEW I'd see it here eventually) wanted to check the auger gearbox oil level. Neither of use could budge the 1/8" NPT plug( 5mm allen key fits ,I'd assume Metric....)) vice grips on allen key didn't work, and paint's been scraped off ANY suggestions ? Jay

re: I am not so certain about the backhoe ears. The BH for the BX23S weighs about 600# + bucket of course.... as for 'why ballast' . It's a matter of weight or mass, Snow vs YOU, little extra weight on your side ,and you can win over snow....except 'city donated' snow.....

Not enough 'UV inhibitors' in the paint ...... If I was really serious about paint fading, I'd just spray on a 'clear coat' with very high UV inhibitors in it. As it sits though, the BX23S will outlive me....

you 'might' win, if a pro welder does it right AND adds a U-shaped band of steel welded to the vertical edge of the casting. Get a price for doing both operations, then compare that to cost of new piece( 700 ?) and time to swap out. If pro welded is cheaper and money talks.... go that route. A...

My BX23S is the best little tractor , and it'll NEVER have a mower deck on it ! :giggle:

if paranoid....jack up trailer NOT seen from road ,set on blocks, remove rim(s). Unlikely thief brought his own rim(s). next time thief returns, he'll have a 'tilt -n- load' tow truck though....

option #1 : remove tank, thoroughly clean it, reinstall you don't say how old a tractor or hour but a 'filthy fuel filter' is a good indication of 'bad stuff' in the fuel tank. Designs vary but when myBX23s had a 'fuel ' problem, best course for me was to 'remove tank, thoroughly clean it...

re: I'm curious how an HST would roll? Well I KNOW the BX23S rolls ,engine off, high range,and PB magically releases! Have had to chase it down the road a few times.....neighbours find it funny as usually I'm ON the tractor NOT running after it.

It's NUTS that NY doesn't have a 'tire recycling' program considering the number of envrionuts in that state. Maybe start hauling them out,close to roadside,in a semi organized line, then see about a service organiziation (scouts ? ) that might haul them to recycler(if he pays ), so they can...

Heck 1/2 the 'warning' stickers and labels went byebye several power washings ago.... You can have the headlight bulbs from my BX23S as they're 'useless as teets on a bull'. I did upgrade the rears to LEDS, so the old bulbs are in garage 'somewhere', if you find them ,you can have them.

idle ..... what RPM is your idle ? My 5 year old BX23S can idle at 1200,1600,1300,1400 even 1000. Don't know why it can vary and one day may actually try to read the WSM but I KNOW that under 2000 RPM the hydraulics are 'weak', same as the drivetrain. I assume that's the nature of the beast. As...

If you can clean up access to the A-C B's they WILL SELL !!! Can you not recycle the tires ??? I hate to hear about buried stuff, especially tires. It took a guy over a YEAR to cleanup the 50 year old car scrap yard and that was with pros coming in. One guy ?, it'll be a decade or two of...
