    Just a whine

Look at housing w/ water outlet & thermostat 25-39 @ rockauto specifically for that application FWIW Believe it's same part for all of them - My 6.0 gen GM was $25 easy to replace!

    Just a whine

I played this game already - if LS based they have the Therm unit integral with the housing... forget both of those. IMO NAPA is the answer if you need it right away - Rock auto if you can wait

60 hours and front tires are shot.

Soo, lots of experience here I have a black cloud hovering over one of my front front R14s on L2501, I walked it off the rim doing loader work early on... Then multiple issues involving nails going up to last week. I pounded the rim back into form then used a tube (try justtubes.com...

    What kind of bird?

Put two holes in my hard coat stucco. Resisted the urge to grab the 22 so far. They seem to have stopped in the last year and yes, it is usually @ 5AM  Edit - I actually leave up some standing dead just to give them something to go for... Interesting one with the curved beak

    What kind of bird?

Have some very big ones up here in eastern PA - cool birds.

    Transmission alignment story........

After years of messing around with old cars & trucks, I have found that it is usually the little things that get me after breezing through what should be the big job! 😧

    Grapple options for the L2501/LA525

Food for thought: I rolled the LP SGC0660 (@250lbs) into the package in early 21 based on consolidated input from the brain trust here and couldn't be happier. My uses include initial major property clean-up of brush, deadfall & fire wooding in an old-growth forest on a ridge that hadn't been...

    Why no valve stem guards?

:p The metal on mine made it really easy for the errant round to knock it right off - you can't make this stuff up

    Why no valve stem guards?

I think they should have included it stock on the front matching the rear (it doesn't matter what I think) & could add a U cup but I am being as careful as I can.

    Why no valve stem guards?

Well, I can tell you how I did it... Good ol Murphy bit me in the tail while clearing out felled trees on the large power line that crosses my property. I was parked about 50' away; not directly downhill mind you, and the damn round took a bead on the front like it was shot from a rifle. I...

    OK lets play.....Whats leaking?

Don't you have the JD Dye in hyd fluid? ;) FWIW I hate the flux in temps we are getting here - I have been moving some fallen dead ash off my older next-door neighbor's property and have to cross her "lawn". Just to be sure, I am only going when highs are below 32 even with my R14s...

Did something really stupid - One inch hole in tractor tire

Something to think about: Smaller tractor & tire example but I put three massive nails through my front in close proximity to each other with a brain lapse. Regular style plugs and repairs didn't work. I pulled and took to a truck service shop recommended by local K dealer. Quick & easy...

    What's your fuel consumption like?

Mine is like this also - 5G takes it from 1/3 to full. Was a bit unnerving at first

L3901 was the star of the show

Tractor & grapple is a great tool. I see why that was easy but I would never approach any standing dead ash here - Mine are min 12" to 30" diam with widowmaker branches. Tractor is always out of range during felling w/ my luck ;) BTW - great firewood for the stove right away

L2501 tries to turn off when leaning on the seat too much

I wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. I kept running loads up one of my trails and couldn't for the life of me figure out why it always started to stall at the same spot every time. There must be something wrong with the new tractor right? It turns out I bounced up enough and must have...

L2501 tries to turn off when leaning on the seat too much

Drove me crazy for more than a while after I got mine. Not "recommended" safety-wise but I left it in place and used a wire tie to defeat it...

Can't complain about HF Predator Engines!

I replaced the Kohler on my splitter w/ the smaller one and has been great. I recently used the 8 hp one on a Mighty Mac Chipper shredder and hasn't been fully vetted yet but very impressive on the test run. Probably could have gotten by w/ the smaller. Now that I am typing this thinking...

    New to Orange Tractors

I have no problem with the sight glass either. Ex) It's running the grapple through the woods and accidentally causing some leakage in a line or bashing an unprotected filter and being able to see it. I recently tweaked a fitting and rubbed through what should have been a protected line and...

    New to Orange Tractors

I just paid the "green tax" and bought it for my K & F@rd. RWS's wise advice on being able to see it if you have a problem was ringing in my ears!! FWIW I looked at alternatives, but trust the JD a bit more even though it is just dye. I did spend the $ on extra preventative maintenance...

    New to Orange Tractors

There are plenty of options from aftermarket. amazon auto/off-road parts houses, TSC & HF etc Lots of threads and info on here. The DST time change and recent black Friday sale put me over the edge ;) I also like & went with the HF Roadshocks. In my case, a 22" bar is going under the fold-down...
