Clutch replacement, was not expecting this

Everything looks good in here as far as I can tell. I'm glad I took it off though, it will make easier to clean up all the parts of the bell housing. Anything else I check or replace while I'm in this area? I'm hoping to never be back in this area again. :)

Clutch replacement, was not expecting this

I was able to work on the tractor for the first time since the original posts. Pretty pleased with how its turned out on this half. Man, there was a lot of crap in here. I still need to coat with Ospho. I dont see any obvious leak sources. Also, several people said I need to look for a...

Clutch replacement, was not expecting this

Perhaps I'm overthinking this, but what type of paint should I use? Just to help me understand better, why is it important to paint in there? If I get rid of all the rust and I also resolve the issue with moisture getting in there, would it still continue to rust?

Clutch replacement, was not expecting this

Thanks for sharing those pictures. That was what I was hoping to see in there. Earlier today I bought a large pack of wire brushes off amazon. I think I have a lot of that in my future unfortunately. Thank you for the Ospho comment. I was going to ask for a rust remover suggestion...

Clutch replacement, was not expecting this

Thanks for the replies. I bought it used from the Kubota dealership. When i bought it the tractor had a new seat and new tires. I didnt think much of it at the time, but my father later said that it was odd that a tractor with only 750 hours on it would need all new tires. My...

Clutch replacement, was not expecting this

I have a 2007 L3400 with about 800 hours on it. I bought it used ~2 years ago and have only put about 50 hours on it during that time. This is my first tractor. Everything on it was working fine until about 6 months ago when I realized the PTO clutch would not engage. I did the adjustment...

L3400DT clutch adjust - PTO clutch froze?

Update on this. I hadnt needed to use my PTO for awhile so I hadnt attempted this. I got around to it yesterday. It was doable, but exceedingly tedious. There isnt a lot of vertical clearance when reaching into that area, so you can only move the bolts a small amount at a time. On top of...

L3400DT clutch adjust - PTO clutch froze?

Thank you for the reply. I do appreciate it. However, I was referring to whole process of him taking off the flywheel access plate and adjusting the spacing bolts in there. I can't find that process anywhere.

L3400DT clutch adjust - PTO clutch froze?

This is a shot in the dark on a 14 year old thread, but I have the same tractor and issue as the original poster. I see he hasnt been active on this forum in a decade unfortunately. In several of his posts on this thread he mentions a procedure to adjust the PTO clutch. I have looked...

    L3400 PTO engagement

I have the same tractor (L3400 gear drive) and the same issue as you stanjar. Were you successful in getting the flywheel and clutch unstuck? If so, what did you do? My tractor has just over 800 hours on it. I've spent some time googling around and I've found a few cases of this issue...

Three point hitch hydraulics on L3400

Hello, I am a new tractor owner and new to the forum, so I might have some basic questions, please be patient. About 8 months ago I bought my first tractor, an L3400 with just under 800 hours on it. The main project I needed it for at first was to help move a bunch of road base to build a road...
