Kubota b7100 FEL build on a budget

I've always heard 3/4-1" on "stick out" an d I'm doing my best to concentrate the heat and move slowly, I know I need to grind my welds down to make sure it's not just glue gunned together, the parts I did grind on the inside of the angle iron did showed good penetration though. The above...

Kubota b7100 FEL build on a budget

I did fix the polarity issue by connecting the "electrode" to the negative side of rectifier. And looks can be very deceiving on welds that are under powered. Where my angle attaches to the rectangle tube I did grind down the welds on the inside ( couldn't get it to slide up to the subframe...

Kubota b7100 FEL build on a budget

NI wolf, thanks for that tidbit. I wouldn't have known. But none of that is in my plans anytime soon. I've got way too much going on to think about running 220 to the garage. At least for the foreseeable future

Greensvillejay Absolutely brilliant advice on the "4" conduit advice" And the first, part about the "holes in the frame rail" was really the part I was most concerned about so far. As I was drilling them this afternoon I was thinking "well, no going back now" lol glad you put my mind at ease.

Kubota b7100 FEL build on a budget

Yes, I know build and budget shouldn't really be in the same headline but my funds are pretty limited and im tired of not having a FEL on the ol gear drive b7100 which is already tapped for hydraulics and already has a (very) similar subframe to the b219 loader to which a full hydraulic plow...

Third B7100 clutch in 4 years!?!?

I think the two bolt thing is a good idea if I shear bolts that's an easy fix, if I shear the rail due to too many holes that's a much harder fix, if I had 220 ran from my garage I would be looking into a bigger "chineseium" welder or a stick welder but I'm limited to the 125amp flux core...

Third B7100 clutch in 4 years!?!?

Thanks.Vigo, that is exactly the info I was looking for, the 2x4 in my photos will get replaced by a peice of rectangle tube reinforced with the angle brackets you mentioned, the angle brackets are the only peice of the puzzle I am missing, but based on you advice they shouldn't be too hard to...

    Yet another B7100 FEL build

I know of the middle connection on the b219 frame and where it bolts too I just don't have that on the plow frame which is otherwise very similar, I will have to fabricate something using those guidelines

Third B7100 clutch in 4 years!?!?

Below are some pictures I took of the existing kibota b7100 snow plow subframe with my reinforcement due to a few of the engine bolts being stripped out, the black metal carries the orange frames load up to the front "box frame/bumper" sorry for the picture quality I will try and get some better...

Third B7100 clutch in 4 years!?!?

I have the older style subframe ( for a factory plow that goes from engine to rear axle, I've also tied from the front mount of that subframe to the "front box frame" due to a couple of the engine bolts being stripped, my question is, is this full length subframe sufficient for a homemade...

    Yet another B7100 FEL build

All excellent information, thanks, glad to hear the unit is working well, definately using grade 8 bolts on anything that gets bolted, also the snowplow subframe goes from the front engine frame/cradle if you will back to the front of the rear axle I may have to support it better in the middle...

    Yet another B7100 FEL build

Torch, awesome build with great attention to detail I know this an old thread andwhat im aboutto do is probably frowned upon, but I noticed you updated it in January of 2023 so I'm hoping your still active and can answer a few questions. I've searched high and low for a homemade FEL build on a...
