Terrible looking but functional tiedown bracket

I'm a new welder, teaching myself fcaw. Here is my second weld project, 1/2" D style tie down point for when hauling my BX2380. Had a tree (sweetgum) on far side of small creek fallover in recent heavy rain. Used the homemade mount point with chain to drag the trunk up the creekbank. I had to...

    In market for budget welder

I do 110v flux welding outside right now. Eventually, I'll add 240v and go inside and using gas, but that's not an immediate goal.

    In market for budget welder

I've checked FB market place and local craigs list, the higher end stuff (miller, lincoln electric, etc) are still asking way high prices. I'll keep searching Failing that, I'm thinking about the PrimeWeld Mig180 is the new top contender. Dan

    Grease fitting

I have an old school style gun with flexhose. My only issue is that it's ripped a couple fittings out of plastic. Thankfully I was able to rescrew them back in and not have damage. Dan

    Trailer ball mount

I use a 3 point mounted trailer hitch. I bought mine from online (first "after market" item I purchased for my BX2380). I have since added a quick hitch and the trailer hitch was too narrow to work. I bought some 22M bolts to replace the lower pins to widen it and now it fits perfectly in the...

    72" belly deck blades

Is it wet? I have experienced that on thick clumps in fields or where it's too tall. I've never experienced anything like that in my yard. If it's not these, sounds like the blades are not the correct sharpness or are spinning too slow for the amount of grass being cut. On a side note, I have...

    Buckets Dropping When Tractor Shut-off

The bucket on my 2380 also drops over time after shutting it off - it has ever since I bought it. I don't normally keep the loader on mine so it's not been a major point of concern - I just thought it was expected pressure loss. When I am done with the tractor, I set the mower deck height to...

BX23S engine oil filter accessible from below? (stuck oil filter)

I'm late to the party here. I've had many issues over the years removing filters from various wheeled vehicles (Jeep Grand Cherokee was probably the oddest location to reach). I mostly use a strap wrench these days. I have a 2 piece set with smaller and larger one. They fit every filter and...

How many implements do you have?

I 'm almost to embarrassed to reply. 😜 front loader with bucket & cutting edge. belly finish mower ballast box 3 point hitch quick hitch (that's an implement, right!) a couple poly dump carts (they also count, right!) BX2380 is the most expensive lawn mower I've ever owned ;) Dan

    In market for budget welder

Thanks for the input everyone! I want to clarify a few things. My current 110v flux welder only has low/high settings and wire speed knob - it's at least 10 years old and was only $70 back then. It works for what I've needed to do (repair mesh on trailer, weld some 3/16" flat and 1/4" flat.)...

    In market for budget welder

Most of what I will do initially will be < 1/4" so I'm fine with 120v. But I know I do want to use up to 1/2" in some projects so that's why I want to get a single welder that can do both instead of buying 2 welders. Dan

    In market for budget welder

Right now I have welded 3/16 and 1/4" on 120V. That's why I want a dual power welder so I can weld thicker metal using 220V. I have 220V breaker not in use, just need to run outlet. That'll be after I get better at welding basics and create a weldsafe area in my garage. Dan

    In market for budget welder

I thought this would be best place for this question. I currently have an old (10+ years) harbor freight 90amp flux core welder (running hobart wire). I'm teaching myself and was told a stick welder would be easier to learn than flux core. There are so many welders on the market, looking for...

    Quick hitch brand

I have a harbor freight QH on my BX2380, the top hook was a little narrow so I ordered a replacement one from amazon which was wider. I use the QH for 2 attachments (1) titan attachments ballast box, with weights inside it's around 350lbs and (2) 3 point hitch receiver. The hitch receiver was...
