In search of a better truck for towing the M6060 and folding cutter.

I had the base 6.7 diesel years ago in an F250. Power was amazing!!! I think that that engine needs 10 or 12 quarts of oil. The HO unit may be more. IDK. I would suggest that you check the level after it is warmed up.... But check the owners manual.

Star Wars electro hyper thrust tech. LOL. 17,000 miles is still within the long term break in period. I assume that the engine is the 6.7 diesel?

Should moderators be elected by membership?

This forum is a business. It is not a democracy. The 'Group' does not rule. If the owner and moderators upset too many folks the folks will just quit coming here. And the business will 'go bankrupt' and end. If you walk into a Kubota dealer and the police show up and escort someone out of...

Best way to give tractor a good wash?

My 2 cents. Get some mild degreaser like Simple Green or Awesome and knock off the grease dangles. Wash it like a car with a car wash soap like Maguire's or similar. Wax the hood with spray and wipe Turtle Wax ICE and call it a day... If you have a cab Windex and / or Rain X the windows. If...

    Equipment Auctions ?

Auctions are hit and miss depending on what you are buying and what is popular. Timing is everything. Years ago, I bought a trailer on Gov Liquidation and it was almost like stealing. The price and fees were that good. The Federal Gov was liquidating hundreds of trailers and it was a...

Should moderators be elected by membership?

Great question. "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain"! LOL. It's just a joke kids. I fear the wrath of the OZ. Just a joke.

Should moderators be elected by membership?

I agree a tiny bit. If terrorism or threats are involved, it's good. It is very good. 100 percent. Otherwise, in the states, DOGE will kill that nonsense. Are we going to pay gov vampires 100K or more a year with tax dollars to help crybabies and those easily offended? Not anymore. It's...

Should moderators be elected by membership?

My 2 cents. This forum has an owner and it is his or her forum. It is not a public entity serving forced tax paying members. I appreciate @armylifer bringing this up, but if I owned a brick and mortar store I would want to be the one as the owner who decides whom I kick out the door. It's...

    Hunting and game posts

The 'short bus' deer. The runt of the group. In folklore, he's Rudolph. The autistic deer. The loner that runs into the semi truck while the others stand and stare on the side of the road... and he or she lives. The one who runs full on into the side of an operating combine in the field...

Music While Working on your Tractor

Great points, for sure. On a bike, I don't listen to music but sometimes wear earplugs if it is a long ride. For the wind sound and engine drone. When operating a tractor I wear noise cancelling earphones, sometimes with music in them... played low. The whine of the transmission is lowered and...

Music While Working on your Tractor

Respectfully; You'd be surprised, my cheese-head compadre. I am really into motorcycles and own and enjoy a very fast car. But your women comment I don't fit into. But on a moto forum years ago a guy asked what to bring on a long motorcycle trip... I said: "A carton of smokes, a bottle of...

Music While Working on your Tractor

Yeah, I bought a SoundBoks a few years ago for outdoor music. I think it will put out 126 decibels. Wireless, cordless. Runs on lithium batteries. Unit is about the size of a medium sized cooler. Batteries are about the size of motorcycle batteries. It's too much for what we need now. But...

First time out with the new LX4020

Yes, filled tires do increase traction. But this is about safely using a FEL. Not traction. It's about not flipping the tractor. OP said it was tippy... that's an understatement. Flip a brand new open station tractor and someone will get hurt in the wallet or worse. Physically. They may...

First time out with the new LX4020

It's an unwritten rule that; "One must never, ever, use the front end loader without a rear mounted 3 point counter weight on the tractor"! Whether its a bucket or a grapple or whatever on your FEL, never use it without a rear counter weight. I ALWAYS have a rear implement or weight when...

    Batteries in cold weather

Like others mentioned. My solution is battery tenders. My cars, trucks, tractor and toys all have battery tenders. I've never used a battery heater but it can't be a bad thing. Secondly, for new trucks, I buy the work truck model. It comes without as many electronic bells and whistles as...

    Suggestions for a wood floor.

Go laminate. Hardwood floors are great if built into a brand new house. But respectfully, hardwood floors added on later to an carpet/plywood floored house is just silly. The laminate flooring available today is excellent. It actually blows away hardwood as far as durability and maintenance...

    Husqvarna 550xp mark 2 or Stihl ms261

Stihl. But I've never owned a Husqvarna. So Take this with a grain of salt and some well mixed 2 stroke fuel. I own a tree farm and forest. My go-to saw for small projects is my Milwaukee M18 electric. It rides in my trucks tool boxes everyday, all the time, for tree fall. No muss, no...
